Prosecutors said the 180-pound Tate - who was 12 years old at the time - inflicted brutal injuries on the 48-pound Tiffany, leaving 35 wounds, including a fractured skull, a lacerated liver, a broken rib, internal hemorrhaging and cuts and bruises.

I lived in Salt Lake City when Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped. When she was finally discovered, she was discovered less than two miles from my house. She was literally discovered in a ditch between my High School, a gas station, and a f****** strip mall that had a Walmart in it. About a year after she was rescued, her parents decided to put her back in school. Now I was one year older than her, but she ended up going to my high school for a few months. Before she started class, they had an assembly with the entire High School. They told all of the students to not ask her any questions about what happened to her. They told us to treat her like a normal person. But a normal person would be asked questions about how she was kidnapped, and why she never ran away. She only lasted about two months at our school before her parents decided that she was being bullied and needed to go to a special school, or be homeschooled. (Even tho she was NEVER bullied by anybody, we all wished her the best and tried to make friends with her.) It was a fascinating situation. Also, she was gone for a lot more than 6 months like Dave said. I think she was gone for more like a year and was assaulted by her evil captor hundreds of times... Fast forward 2 years, and I was in the same jail as her captor Brian mitchell. I was a trustee (meaning I served meals to the maximum security prisoners) so I knew Elizabeth personally, and I also knew her captor personally. The guy was like 5 foot 1 and 110 lbs soaking wet. She could have run away anytime she wanted. She was just scared for some reason. But her captor Brian Mitchell was full blown crazy. I saw him 3× everyday for 9 months straight. All he ever did was sing gospel hymns... Many times, the guards would ask me to spit in his food, and I always did. It wasn't that she couldn't escape... she was told that if she ever tried to escape, her entire family would be killed. So it wasn't as easy as just running away. She was fully brainwashed... and it took many years for her to mentally/emotionally get back to normal. She was a very strong and courageous young girl. She went thru something most people could Never even imagine... and she survived the trauma, and became a very strong young woman in the end.

Thanks for writing this out. I looked her up. Technically she was 14 when she was kidnapped, it was also said in the beginning she was shackled to a tree next to her tent 18 miles away from her home in the woods. Eventually they all moved to Cali before he got arrested for breaking into a church, at some point they came back to Utah not sure exact date. Anyways, its an interesting yet sick story and I'd advise others to look her up as well. It kind of kills the funny in Dave's joke though >.>;

Yeah after looking up the story, it was hard to laugh at the joke. I think he kinda went too far with this one
@elisemiller13
@elisemiller13 9 ай бұрын
@@Damphouse What's "too far" ? Dave is not just a regualr sort of commedienne. If you listen to him in recent years, you'll perhaps notice that he's a truthteller. and in his earlier years he slipped the truth part into his jokes now he makes people think more and perhaps laugh less. What part you found too far that he went, I don't know, but it's absolutely true what he said about black minors being charged for things most white minors aren't. As for the jokes he made about how close to home she was & why didn't she run...that is the joke but he's aware why she didn't run. A great comedianne (which in my opinion he has usually proved to be) has the ability to make the hard stuff easier to hear. Of course what's actually funny may be many times eclipsed by what makes us laugh. That's irony, that's life. That dark humor is what kept my ancestors going

@@elisemiller13the one about the kid getting arrested was fine but the one about the girl getting kidnapped was a little too much imo. I'm not gonna throw a fit about it or anything but if I was her or her family i'd be pretty upset about it.

Not too many people were upset when that 13 year old black kid got a natural life sentence, it was an accident it was tragic. I've seen kids that committed murder, get sentenced to juvenile facility and they are released when they're 21. I've never seen a 13 year old kid get a life sentence for an accident, that caused the murder I say accident because they were playing like they were wrestlers in the WWE, but to be fair about it, the kid was extremely large for his age to 13 year old and the other kid was rather small.

On July 28, 1999, in Miramar, Florida, 12-year-old Lionel Tate decided to practice some of the wrestling moves he had seen his strutting idol, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, perform on his favorite television show, WWF Smackdown. Lionel, who weighed 170 pounds at the time, demonstrated some pro-wrestling techniques with 6-year-old, 48 pound Tiffany Eunick, with the result that she was punched, thrown, kicked and stomped to death. On the coroner's report, the cause of Tiffany's death is listed as "blunt force trauma." Lionel Tate, who has a reputation as a schoolyard bully, injured her little body to the extent that she bled from her mouth, nose, eyes and ears. Her skull was fractured in several places and her ribs were cracked. Part of her brain was flattened inside her head. The beating Lionel Tate gave her was so severe, part of Tiffany's liver broke loose and was floating free inside her body.

The black kid in Florida wasn't 15 he was 13 years old. They gave him a life sentence. He killed his neighbor accidentally, they were practicing wrestling moves. The sentence was later overturned. The kid got older he got in trouble again and they sent him back to prison.
@cambium101
@cambium101 2 жыл бұрын
i mean it was overturned because the state appeals court overturned his conviction on the basis that his mental competency had not been evaluated before trial. and also if you read up on the actual trial it wasnt a accident the 6 year old girl he killed was beaten so badly her skull was cracked her whole body was covered in bruises broken ribs ect, and her liver was cut from being stomped on. do i believe a 12 year old should be facing life no but what he did was very messed up.
