Had a kid who was in boy scouts with me get around 120-150 burrow into him when he slept outside during a county wide scout camp trip. Poor guy had to get carted off via ambulance around 4am. Love the vid, still got the heebie jeebies with ticks though.

Great reaction! Hilarious! My dog Kirby ended up getting lyme disease from a deer tick. Ticks drop off onto the ground completely full and the kids in the neighborhood would stomp on them and pop them. Most people burn them after they get the head out and flush them down the toilet, but the easiest way is to put vaseline on them and they will smother to death and be easier to remove. I learned that trick from a farmer. It works!

I grew up in Deep South America. We used to get these on us all the time as kids. We had a dog once that couldn't stand. It was an outdoor dog (we lived in a farming community). It was weak and just couldn't stand up. My dad realized it had so many ticks on it, it was suffering from blood loss. Yikes. The dog was okay. Then it got run over by a truck.

My wife has been bitten by a Texas Spotted tick. And cannot eat Beef or Pork. In facts she cannot be around cooking meats without the worry of her airway closing up. She carries a Epi pen with her, and we have raced to the hospital a few times, due to her air way closing up. She also has lost a lot friends (facebook) who have the same issues, that have died to eating the wrong kind of food thinking that it was safe, and killed them.

You guys over in old England don’t have to worry about Lyme’s disease, it’s us over in New England that have to worry, as the name originates from Lyme, Connecticut, where the disease was first identified. Several of my friends and all of my dogs have had it, some of which have been pretty severe. My first dog had a very dense undercoat of hair that made it difficult to find ticks, so they’d get all engorged like the first one in this video and then drop off. I got to know the very precise and horrifying feeling of squishing one of those blood jellybeans with your bare feet

Great reaction. Good that it's funny video, since this way maybe more people learn about Tick's. I myself had tick borne encephalitis. That's basically same as Lyme disease but it can be many times worse. In order to get lyme disease yes the tick has to be attached to you for 24 hours. In case of tick borne encephalitis though I have been told it's enough if the tick just crosses an open wound. In my case doctors never found the tick or a tick bite. I'm not a doctor but to me tick borne encephalitis is like a milder stroke. Meaning it can have same end results as strokes, but chances of them happening are less likely. Some kind of parallelization is quite common complication for tick borne encephalitis. In my case at the start one side of my entire body was basically paralyzed. Now 14 years later it has gotten better but hand is still paralyzed partially(60-70% paralyzed maybe). Good part about tick borne encephalitis is you get apparently life time immunity for it after you get it. But yeah the price for it can be quite high. I have also heard that 0-3 year old usually have less complications after tick borne encephalitis. I have even heard even worse tick borne diseases then tick borne encephalitis although they are quite rear it seems. BTW!!! Right after tick borne encephalitis I watched a movie where children were in a forest and someone found a tick on themselves and the other one said don't be scared it's just a tick luckily not a poison ivy. I know very little about poison ivy, but Tick's can be quite bad as well.

My niece got lime disease and it was bad. She was 8. Hospitalized more then once. Had to get treatment they use in cancer patients. And she now has that really bad arthritis in her fingers.

Where I live in the southeast US there's tick galore. You worry about going to the park or something and get a tick. In an extreme summer you're luck to if you step off the front porch an get in the car without getting a tick on you.

I used to work in Central America. I was once in the airport bathroom about to take a flight home after working in the jungle for 6 weeks. I looked down at my manhood and saw what I thought to be 3 balls of lint. Went to flick one off and it exploded on impact. They weren't lint balls...and they had apparently been there a while.

Dave can you have guinea fowl in England? I know people here keep them with their chicken because they supposedly help keep down the tick population even more than chickens. As far as I know they don't have any other purpose because I've never heard of anyone eating them or their eggs.

For what it's worth, which may not be much nowadays, the term "true facts" is nonsensical. People who use that term only show that they have no idea what facts and truth actually mean.
