Jack was the more accurate representation and was actually a clown and comedian of mayhem. Heath was just a more realistic version of the joker. Not better per day but definitely more believable. Remember realism isn’t always better

No he’s overrated as fuck but you guys are blindsided by his performance cause of his death and why everyone else says that you can’t have your own opinion. Jack Nicholson is the joker in my opinion. Not because I want to be different but because I don’t give someone an award and a bunch of attention for a role just because they died from it. Heath Ledger's was closer to the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and Ledger's had an appearance closer to Brandon Lee's The Crow (1994) than the actual Joker that Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson created in the Batman #1 (1940) comic book. The Joker is a comic book villain that dropped into acid chemicals and the Joker kills people using a poison toxin that gives his victims a Joker grin in death. Jack is clearly the GOAT.

Even though Heath’s Joker had the means to be a serious physical threat to Batman, Jack’s Joker was able to hold onto the ladder hanging in midair for a good 20 seconds, all with the weight of the statute around his foot. I thing strength is a tie.

Heath ledger's joker is alot more darker & actually felt like he escaped from a mental asylum and went on a psychotic crime spree, Heath ledger nailed the performance of a dark-tone joker. He deserved to be remembered in the very bottom of our hearts, rest in peace Heath ledger. However Jack Nicholson's joker nails the performance as a vanilla standard Joker, I don't get it why many people are calling him mid, i just don't see how they argue other than him being supposedly "bad at acting as joker" but I don't see anything negative about his performance, either it's just their opinion. Overall I think these two is what i would consider "The Kings of all Jokers" in my opinion, they should be the poster boy when someone looks up The Joker, and both would become the building blocks into creating more jokers in the future.

Jack Nicholson’s joker was in my opinion the best joker because you think about it he did the joker correctly because if you look at the con book version of joker back then he did it on the nose because joker was a crime boss and he had the Killing Joke vibes down pat too. Heath ledger joker just felt like it was trying to match a darker theme similar to Gotham TV show joker.

Now, let get this straight. Jack Nicholson's joker predecessor is Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix and some other great performance of the joker. Ceasar Romero's Joker predecessor not so much but a joke. Like the saying goes. "The predecessor shall succeed their successor."

Nicholson literally just inserted his persona into the Joker, whereas Ledger was playing a role that was totally unlike everything he'd ever done in his life. And it was much that he did not even look recognisable under all that make-up, unlike Nicholson. But yes, both are really great Jokers. The only difference is that Nicholson was already expected to play such a character, given his experience with insane characters (Jack Torrance). On the other hand, Ledger mostly played "normal" guys, until TDK.
