In the highly-anticipated return of two iconic characters, the arch-rivals from the legendary Karate Kid film series reunite over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Now living in the affluent hills of Encino, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) leads an enviable life with his beautiful family, while running a successful string of car dealerships throughout the valley. Meanwhile, his high school adversary, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), whose life has taken a rocky turn, seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. Their lives inevitably become intertwined and the rivalry is reignited, setting forth the next generation of “karate kids” in COBRA KAI, a KZfaq Red Original Series. And wouldn’t you know it, season 3 was its best imo and that is really saying something. In my opinion it’s the best show crafted up there with the best of them. It’s all as good as Breaking Bad - Better Call Saul - Fargo or Ozark.

I know right! I had low expectations of this serie and thought it would be to over the top or funny... but it is so good! The music, how they incorporate elements from the Karate kid movie, the flasbacks and how they made a whole new serie/story around it with the leading background story of Daniel and Johnny, spot on 👌

I'm sorry but how did this trailer scream cheap? Yeah it does gives off a cheesy feeling since it's a trailer for a reboot but I'm not seeing the cheap part. Edit: Ok actually the end of the trailer did scream cheap but I didn't get that feeling at the beginning of it.

I agree with Hugo Ruiz' comment. Johnny was just a kid who got led down a bad path by that psycho of a sensei he had for a role model. The greatest moment in the movie is Johnny's "wake up" during the tournament when his sensei tells him to "sweep the leg". That's the moment he really sees for the first time who his sensei really is, and it shocks him. In the end, after being defeated, he grabs the trophy so he can give it to Daniel himself. For sure he's the hero of the movie.

Dre's Karate Kid is the cinematic universe while Johnny's Cobra Kai is the webseries universe. Overbrook Entertainment should get Ryan Coogler director of Creed and Keanu Reeves director of Man of Tai Chi to wove enough a plot line of epic proportion that will breath new light into this Karate Kid Universe and that would maketh Karate Kid one of the zenith in totality of entertainment's kindred macrocosm of movie-verses. Remember it has the acting chops of Taraji P. Henson and Hilary Swank(Million Dolar Baby and The Next Karate Kid).

A Senpai watches to ensure that the technique is applied properly, and corrects students when needed while Sensei works with others. While most Sensei's will req their Senpai's to teach other classes, peewee's and kids, it's not mandatory though Sensei's pick that student who puts in the extra time, which allows the Senpai to grade faster than other students, though my Sensei always asked me if it was okay to wait because his Sensei wanted to personally grade me reflecting his teaching ability..

This trailer doesn't reflect how good the show is. While karate is on the surface to keep the plot moving, underneath are some complex adult themes of loneliness, regret, and redemption. It also explores the modern-day family dynamics. Yes there is some cheesy acting but the overall show is amazing.

Daniel should've been disqualified, Johnny didn't injure him and didn't want to fight him while he was injured. Daniel used an illegal head kick to win. Thus why Johnny is better. Only thing that sucks is his Camaro.

Of all the enemies in all the Karate Kid movies, only Johnny deserved redemption and further development of character. Not only did he lose gracefully, but the discerning fan will notice that even in between rounds he was actually kneeling and meditating.

However, unlike, say, Erin Moran and Carrie Fisher both of whom had long, well-documented histories of drug abuse, neither Macchio nor Zabka does. Moreover, both have continued to act in the last 34 years and anyone with a TV or computer could easily see how they've aged. Hell, there's even a 3 yr old Where Are they Now on KZfaq. The Op's suggestion was - it's 34 yrs later. They're old (at 52 and 56). By default, they should look old and unhealthy. But, gee, they don't. Congratulations Lastly, if you consider a mere difference of opinion an attack, then you should get your snowflake self off the internet and refrain from public commenting.

Never judge a book by its cover. When I first saw the trailer, I was skeptical. I thought it would be two "has beens" trying to milk the Karate Kid movies from the 80's because they are old washed up actors. Man was I wrong. I gave the first episode a try and binge watched the whole thing on the same day. The writing, acting, and location is just perfect. It's a touch of the 80's and 2018 with all the tech. If you think this is going to be a cheesy show with actors trying to relive their golden years, you're wrong. Can't wait for season 2 to come out.

philiskirk57 what’s wrong? He’s right. This show is the definition of a continuation after so many years. It pays homage to the original films while developing new characters and new story threads. At least give the show a chance. I was nervous at first but Cobra Kai has become one of my favourite shows next to Game of Thrones. Give it a shot if you like the Karate Kid, you’ll love this show

I picked this up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised on how good it is. Pretty much binged the entire first 3 seasons in one session. Tight writing, great acting, and awesome action scenes (being a martial art show and all). This was more than just an martial art show; it was a story about rivalry, redemption, and how many times you can go back up after life mercilessly kicked you down. Highly recommended, my "feel good" show of the summer.

I’ve only just found this today and binged the entire first season non stop and had to force myself to stop. I literally watch no tv shows, I can’t get into sons of anarchy, stranger things, money heist all the big name ones. But for some reason I am absolutely addicted to this, it’s truly a masterpiece.

I like the idea of Johnny getting a redemption, but I really hope they don't completely assassinate Daniel's character. It's a good idea for him to have gotten a bit of an ego over the years, but I don't want them to just completely uproot or discredit the lessons he learned from the original movie. I know Mr. Miyagi is probably dead by now, but I think it would help a lot if Daniel were to somehow learn that he had become a bully from Miyagi himself, thus reversing the roles while still respecting the philosophy of the original movie.
