Thank you very much for this video. It took me 2 hours, mostly because I couldn't remove my screen with the stupid suction cup (it was completely cracked). I finally pulled out my pocket knife and pried open the screen, much much easier.

Do you know if suppliers of the screens fixed the issue with iOS 11 compatibility? I had my screen replaced by a third party shop when iOS 11 came out and I’ve had lag issues ever since it has lag with the keyboard and the touch functionality is off very finicky. Also the colors are cooler than OEM displays but that’s not a major problem the lag is frustrating. I can do these repairs so I’m thinking of just trying to replace it again this time myself but I know that I’m not the only one that has had problems with aftermarket screens and iOS 11.

I had watched several videos and had many unsuccessful tries to plug in the home button. But your video was the first one that mentioned the small bump and instructions to align the reference hole over it. (23:29) After I did that the connector plugged right in. Help: After connecting all the cables and pressing the power button the Apple displayed and then the touch pad for login. It would not respond to and touch pad and not to the power button to shut off. I unplugged the power connection and stopped there. What do you suggest I try. Thanks

MBswaq 23 Yes but you can buy adhesive strips for it so as long as you install the adhesive strip when you close it up it will still have the water resistance.

Leoncio Gonzalez I believe they use that for preventing static electricity so you don’t fry anything on the board. Another thing that’s recommended when working in the phone if you don’t have that band is to disconnect the battery ribbon cable as soon as possible to prevent shorting any chips out.

Well sorry to hear, I know it was way long ago, and you probably got it fixed by now. Like he said in video, those tiny cables and plugs are very delicate, you must have broken in a way without knowing so, or you didn't plug it in place.

There is extremely poor lighting on the phone. The phone itself is black make it difficult to see how you are removing some cables and components.
