Most of the Finnish music is in minor. Finland is a very very sad and dark place. In general marketing Finnish music isn't an easy task even still. Some have gained international recognition, some didn't get recognition during their lifetime even in Finland. If you're interested, here are some highlights of Finnish music regarding musicianship and compositions from classical to metal. You wonder why you haven't heard this? Thank the American music industry. I am boycotting them because they really produce nothing I want to hear anymore. The best music in the world is being created in Northern Europe, and since our Music Industry isn't cashing in, they make it nearly impossible to hear it unless you seek it out. I learned this two decades ago, and I can't remember the last time I listened to music on the radio. I program my own music and can only name a few American bands at this point. There are exceptions: Dream Theater, Kamelot, Sons of Apollo, Winery Dogs ... but commercial music is complete fertilizer. If one song sells, five hundred just like it follow. Screw art, it's all the money chase. Love that you are discovering where the geniuses are hiding.

Jari didn't have lung cancer. The operation to remove a part of his lungs was due to tuberculosis.

Now you've experienced Time I so you're ready for Time II :). Though there is one track from Time I, which you may not have heard yet, it's the album's intro "When Time Fades Away", an incredibly beautiful instrumental song. It's 4 minutes long which transitions to Sons of Winter and Stars. It's definitely worth checking out.

Another great reaction to this great band. Now you need to react to my second favorite Wintersun song, Loneliness (Winter) from the Forest Season's album. The lyric video is the way to go, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p6-ZjamhtLfSlGw.htmlsi=wjD2GBza9G-I49W5. Jari wrote this song after the passing of his father. The song perfectly captures the anguish and pain of loss as well as the isolation and emptiness of winter as only a Finn can. I grew up in Northern Vermont close to the Canadian border and spent many hours playing in the woods in the middle of winter and there is no other silence and solitude like that, so the song really resonates with me.

It is a fact that Wintersun has crafted some mind-blowing symphonic elements in their music. And I am devoted Finnish female fan of this band. Jari is a wizard, a master of his craft throwing everything at the listener at full force. Yet Jari must have forgotten, that sometimes less is more. What bothers me especially with this song - it is difficult to hear the lyrics. For me the title song TIME is elusive nirvana of total perfection.

Jari's motto is "More is more", but we also have to note that he said that he failed with Time I because he couldn't get it to sound right (but he had to release the album at some point back then) so it does sound a bit flat and messy here and there, but now he has been able to fix that problem thanks to the new studio and modern plug-in technology. He made a completely new mix and master of the Time I -album and stated that now it's how it was always meant to be. It's called Time I 2.0 and it'll come with the Time Package which comes out in August 30th. I expect Land of Snow and Sorrow to sound much, much better because the new sound makes it possible to hear different elements (guitars, drums, bass, orchestrations and vocals) much more clearly and they won't overwhelm each other.

Great reaction as always! And yes, this band is pure talent! I think there’s a new album coming out soon (in August, was it?). I’ve only heard e few songs from this band, but they blow my mind! And Kai, always smiling behind the drums! Just epic (or sic, as you might say 😄).

Hey pastor Another great wintersun analysis from your expertise and you being a guitar player you pointed out how great the guitar tone sounded and pastor Amie those tones were coming from ibenez guitars at that ! We all know how you feel about ibenez but any you have watched and analyized all three of the wintersun Sonic pump studios videos which this one was the last one and about your wintersun beyond the dark sun reaction for your knowledge that's the least favorite wintersun song by their fans . But now I suggest that you look into the past of jari the founder of wintersun with his former band ensiferum and the Viking folklore influence that had on him when he created music for wintersun as you mentioned in this song that it reminded you of Viking folklore sounds. So I do strongly suggest that you react and analyize ensiferum Lai Lai Hei live wacken by rammie 666 from 14 years ago 570k views . You'll like that jaris former band are dressed as Vikings and their preforming at wacken in Germany where they have a famous music there every year which wintersun nightwish and epica have preformed there as well and they are all sister bands too. So please send me back a reply back pastor Amie when you will react to ensiferum Lai Lai Hei live wacken from rammie 666 from 14 years ago 570k views. Thanks for the shout out for this live version of Lal Lai Hei. I am assuming that is a very young Jari playing lead guitar. Audio is a little muddy but not bad considering it is 14 years old. Lai Lai Hei is my favorite Ensiferum song and I had only been able to find live versions after Jari had left the band. Wacken 2018 is pretty good and there is an acoustic version that I really love. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bb6Enpd-2NjanX0.htmlsi=mywAceAPQAThsuNV. The accordion really adds to that Viking folk metal feel of the song. I still prefer the studio version. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m7OIetWmtJ7ecok.htmlsi=f4a_I26lTvHECVaz. I think it has the best audio quality and it is just so epic and Nordic. One of the reasons I love folk metal so much, especially if they use a hurdy gurdy like Eleuveite or Satatio Mortis. What sound funny to me, was refering Bon Jovi, when i felt that it was straight refer to tradition finnish folk music, not a copy, but influence. I guess i have to start digging this Bon jovi, I know the name, but never given me an experience in music, i've heard before. You know, one those ok, but nothing special, but if they have so straight melodic and musicwise influences on finnish music, i've been lazy to listen and need to correct this.
