I liked that CM Punk, and I only realized it after the fact, laid out exactly what happened to him in 2012-2013 when he was on the cover of the video game and the hottest thing in the company, and The Rock came back and big shotted his way into the main event at Wrestlemania. And now Punk is telling Cody, “I’m doing the same thing to you.” That was kind of a heel move. Punk is doing what he wants to do and saying what he wants to say and letting the crowds determine if he’s the good guy or bad guy. It’s kind of like Stone Cold in ‘97.
@KyleS3m3noff

Yeah, and he laid it out after Cody said he was more CM Punk than him, so he replied "Well let me give you the Full CM Punk Experience", so he was straight up telling Cody he was gonna do what was done to him that pissed him off so much back then. Was so layered.

towards the end of it prior to relocating to FCW those stars were being wasted, obviously the 2002 class was class (still wasted Shelton Benjamin), but the 2004-05 class with Johnny Nitro, Mr. Kennedy, MVP, CM Punk, Santino Marella, Elijah Burke etc had more misses than hits, most of those were gone by 2011.

You have to go watch the presser from the rumble. DDP asked Cody about his dad at the top of the interview and he pretty much lost it. It was touching. It makes sense where Randy Orton and triple h and everyone else fit into this for Cody. I bring up Randy because knowing ddp was close with dream and knowing Randy got the cutter from ddp tells you a lot about how Cody ended up with Randy. It gives you a glimpse as to what a lot of this really means to him and his family and to the locker room.

It is because Cody has said that he doesn't like qhen his dad is brought into storyline promos. Man the fact tony missed the boat with these two guys is crazy! This was a really good segment and it was just simple easy to follow storytelling but it got you interested in watching the match on Saturday to see what happens just from this one interaction and it didnt need 10 different guys coming out and doing there stick just two pros having a conversation that gradually got more and more heated without having a huge pull apart because it wasnt needed (ofc vince russo said afterwards punk should of sucker punched cody) because that guy is fonze the way he jumps sharks

When Punk debuted in AEW there was no chance in hell He could be the top babyface like He so desperately wanted and He went back to WWE.
