I really feel like the driver of the Supra could work on his posture behind the wheel. Driving a 850hp Supra like you’re drag racing a 120 hp Golf GTI at the nearest Mickey D parking lot, just doesn’t seem right. With that said: you guys both have amazing machines.

The Lexus is300 was my favourite car in Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005. Seeing it here now brings back so many memories of beating the final 4 bosses with this hidden sleeper. it was fast asf in the game

The IS has a stronger transmission and/or better-plugged-in gearchange. It looked like the Supra's gearchange got in the way a bit. Good to see a pair of manual 'box motors for a change - and no surprise that they couldn't hit the autocheat-dsg kind of acceleration times. That IS is a proper monster (as is the driver) - a cracking sleeper. Well done there.

I’m in Australia and we rate everything in actual wheel HP, I’m a dyno tuner. I’m assuming you guys talk in corrected crank hp? Like a 369 and 1200cc’s over here taps out at 700rwhp. Yet this Lexus makes 900 and doesn’t spin third on a street tire - always wondered how bogus the numbers are.

@@alexmann3309 you are right about most UK cars being very optimistic and owners often confusing the bhp for whp, but this IS300 made 800whp on pump fuel and 937whp on E50 before maxxing out injectors - theres a video of it on the rollers on SRD’s channel

That IS is brutal! I'm partial to the IS platform, I love my IS 350, but alas, it's only the standard 3.5 liter V6, lol. Alex's IS is properly sorted out, I expected it to be quite a handful, but he drove it beautifully. You can see how much both of them have to finesse those beasts by their low 1/4 mile times compared to their HP outputs. Both of those cars SHOULD be running sub 9's, but traction is right out the window...

Well matches the whole sleeper appeal but I always like turning the IS into a exotic sports sedan which you can easily do with the right paint job and right body kit. It can look like a grandma sleeper, it can look like a snazy luxury sport car, it can look like a race car, it can look like a zippy sports car so many things you can do with it due to its timeless design.

I think gearbox and tune play a big part here ! And I also think that as they build speed, all that downforce of the Supra is even more detrimental to the result. The turbo in the IS300 spools way angrier

Two amazing vehicles!! All the love for the IS300!!! 🔥 On another note here in the states the Lexus has a 2jz from factory its the GE not GTE but none the less a 2jz. I realized they said in the beginning that it isn’t fitted with a 2jz but that must elsewhere.
