Primus made my depression kill itself.

Primus has such a unique yet bizarre approach to music. The fact that they achieved mainstream success is a prime example of how the 90s were a truly special time for rock and metal.

It’s amazing how Les is able to paint a picture with his bass, that main bass riff sounds like a car revving its engine and taking off.

It's crazy. Les went from looking like that crazy 3rd cousin who's been in and out of jail, to looking like that science teacher who really is just there to make stuff blow up.

Saw them in 1995, I'm totally serious when I say they had the rowdiest mosh pit out of every concert in my life.

I dedicate this song to my grandpa, Jerry. He passed away just days before he turned 70, after a years-long battle with cancer. He owned many sports cars and loved driving on the Sycamore track. RIP Jerry Byrd December 5th 1949-December 3rd,2019

Les Claypool and Maynard Keenan looked like brothers back in the early 90's.

Dude I loved this song as a kid. Jerry was a race car driver. Dad showed it to me I was laughin' at the lyrics like yes that's killer. And how it's played is just amazing. Tony Hawks Pro Skater on Nintendo 64 made the right choice having that song on their game too cause I'd put it on repeat.

Ok hear me out: before his forced retirement, Captain Pierce was one of the first responders on the scene of Jerry’s fatal drunk driving accident. One of the many things he taught young Les was never to drink and drive, because no matter how good you think you are, you aren’t that good. He told the story of a young race car driver, a literal race car driver, in graphic detail to prove his point to Les Claypool. Go out, have your fun, have a good time, but don’t fuck around. Me and my dad played THPS and this song came on. My dad yelled PRIMUS SUCKS!!! At the top of his lungs and it’s been one of our songs ever since. Since then I have been learning bass and I listen to the claypool catalogue every day.

Man I used to freeskate for hours and hours on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 on PS1 back in the early 2000s listening to this song on repeat and just rocking out the whole time. I get nestalgic goosebumps everytime I hear it. I always loved these guys all growing up. My friends thought I was crazy and I never cared, they are just so fricken awesome.
