The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

This classic tv show is PRICELESS! Outrageously funny nearly 50 years since its debut. I watched every Friday night episode during the show's original run; and never tire of seeing it in reruns.

I like the scene (not in this composition) where they are eating dinner at the Japanese house and he say's he likes the "grapes".....ohh Mr. Sanford, you like our traditional food, FISH EYES. Fred spits out the eyes and almost chokes. The show was in my top ten best of S n S.

Only those of color flew did it ring up yet creeks of colored strips only a dark cloud could for see deeper then it self that only fire burned the holes of the san and flying in the male of seeds that half of the hand that feed the bold come up lonely and rich with hair of the human being

In that episode Home Sweet Home, Fred's greed ruined it for everyone in the neighborhood. With the Japanese buying up the property, everyone could've lived a little bit better but Fred ruined it

The last part where Fred gets greedy reminds me of how the city of Oakland does business with professional sports teams. I know this statement doesn't make sense to a lot of people but what I mean is that the Oakland city government can't get anything done because they want to have control of everything won't make valiant efforts to negotiate business deals thinking that in the business world everyone will cater to their every whim. Then when their teams make efforts to leave then the city politicians make a fuss because they want to have it both ways wanting to have something but not make tj effort to keep it. Same with Fred. Wanting to work out a deal but always wanting more and more.

This is TV for you. That house was only worth like 7500. The initial offer was double then went as high as 22,500. That was a lot of money in 1975. In today’s dollars that’s 110k. They could have easily sold, bought a nicer house and had thousands left over. In real life Fred takes the initial offer lol.
