About Sanford And Son: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

Grady (Whitman Mayo) went to the same barbershop I did in Atlanta, and we both used the same barber. I never got to meet him because I only went on Saturdays, and he would go during the middle of the week. When he passed away in 2001, I was heartbroken, because I was hoping to get the chance to meet him, which would've been the thrill of a lifetime, R.I.P Whitman Mayo, b.k.a. "Grady"...🙏🏼...

andrew, old is over 65 senior citizen 70s, but if you are, then enjoy it! my grandparents do still. and: mi parents are not OLD people yet, but Middle-age born decade 1970s.. 1 is early 50s, still watch, other (my dad lil younger 40s.)both STILL watch, we all do. Even my baby bro born mi 90s, got it on tonight, sure do black station called TV ONE. adios."

I really think that Graddy was the stabilizing Force in Sanford and Son! His comedy was priceless! And that laugh of his oh man! 😬😂😹

Clinton Mayo started the funny Brady Wilson I mean you had guys like bubble Bexley skillet Leroy Otis and if they were on there and then you had the course Grady Wilson and Grady Wilson was the top of the mountain I mean he was the chilled Colossus he was the boss of woods the king of the sticks and he was the n***** n***** Brady Wilson AKA Clinton Mayo made history when we come to the first black actor in 1960 to be inducted into the television Hall of Fame

First time I saw Sanford and son I was young like 9, we took a vacation to Virginia for a week. It was so boring in Virginia that we stayed in the hotel watching a Sanford and son marathon all week. I loved that vacation because of Sanford and son, Virginia still sucks lol

I hated Grady when this was on. Never watched when Red was gone. Now, I appreciate his contribution! He was really funny, I never game him a chance. That Marijuana episode was one of the best!
