Just came across your video. As a GM guy, I agree. I am an overall car guy and have owned everything from a 2010 SS to now a 23 RT-m/t, and an 03 bmw z4 3.0i-MT. I have owned a 21 sxt premium and must say that these cars are great in all variations. I work in a shop and find that we only see these when they are heavily abused. I recently owned a 24 s650 6 speed and seriously disliked the screens. Great car, sounds great, but the ipads are nonsense. As a daily, the 5.7 is fantastic. The fact that there is no DI and a HPFP, and a lack of nannys-is just great for a car guy. Last call is cool too!

I wish I could agree with you but, I can't. I have a 2014 Challenger R/T Plus, that I bought used in April, 2016. It had 16,206 miles when I first bought it. It currently has 134,570 miles. It's my daily driver. I noticed the first week when I had the car she would pull to the right ( a camber problem) all four brakes would squeal and my rear window defroster wasn't working right. All had to be replaced. Another problem is the air unit. On rare occasions I would turn it on and it wouldn't engage until I made several attempts to get it working. In the last three years from 2020, currently (2023). I had to replace the radiator and radiator fan, drive shaft, engine oil switch, fuel pump. Now I have to replace the rear glass due to a leak. Not to mention my front and rear suspension needs to be replaced due to lose components. And my driver side window had to be adjusted because it wouldn't line in with the rubber molding. But, I still love my Challenger. I still haven't change my spark plugs!

Nice video with a lot of good information. I’ve own 3 Challengers. Currently I still own a 2016 R/T Shaker Plus with a 5.7. My first 2 challengers had no issues. but my 16 has had a few issues with the driveshaft carrier bearing bushing broke, hood rust, the window trim pieces discolored, the cowl faded. Granted this car is my daily driver and it’s not in a garage. For a car with only 38k miles it’s showing its age.

The reason these cars are high quality is because they were partnered with Daimler Benz at the time. The relationship with Daimler rubbed off on the builds of these. I have a 2010 Furious Fucshia R/T with 3K miles and it’s like brand new. I’ve had 180 cars, and this is top five of my favorites.

I own a 2010 Challenger RT Classic manual in PCP that I bought used in 2016. It’s been a great car. I did have a bad alternator but other than that, no mechanical problems. The front hood seal failed but I didn’t replace it yet and the dash cover right above the center vent popped up but Gorilla Glue and looks great again. It’s only @ 66,000 right now but needs more hp for sure. The Tremec 6060 in it is one of the best manuals I’ve owned for sure. It’s a really nice comfortable cruiser that I really enjoy driving. Like you I’ve been thinking about giving it some more hp, especially after driving one of my son’s Scat Charger. I’ve been leaning towards a Magnuson SC and probably shorty headers. Be interested to see what you’re going to do with yours? I do wish brake upgrades were a bit less pricey and didn’t have to source scat spindles to do a factory type upgrade. I agree with you on the interiors. Growing up in the 80s all the cool muscle and pony cars had black no frills interiors and that was fine by me. Also wanted to mention that I’ve got an 03 Mach 5 spd (Torch Red) that I’ve owned since 03.

Nice video. I have a 2012 Yellow Jacket, SRT 8, still very fresh. The 1 of 1 car I am not sure of. The RT Classic Challengers were a bit more rare than a standard RT, but they were not that rare. Yours is an automatic with a sunroof. I would double check that with FCA. They did a research on mine, I have the original build sheet and window sticker. There were only about 1300 Yellow Jackets sold- 1000 here in the states, the other 300 went to Canada. Mine is one of 392 with my options. Nice Classic you have. I wouldn't cut it up or modify it. I would sell it if you want something with more power. If it was a standard V6 Chally then I would modify that, but this being a Classic RT I would leave it alone.

Why not just put a vortech supercharger on it and lil wider tires in back possibly and a tune and call it good. I bet you would not want to get rid of it once you feel the extra power. Just a thought since it would even compete with the new stuff too.

Very well said, I've had 2 Chargers, a 300 & currently have a 2010 Challenger, as well as a '23 Nissan Maxima. I've had other Chryslers in the past. I've had almost 50 cars myself, not including motorcycles & your video kind of reminds me of myself, when I'm not only defending anything Chrysler, but also, Hyundai/Kia, as I've had many. I've also had many Hondas, Toyotas & Nissans, other than the one I have now. Although they were all good cars, I had much better luck & enjoyed, my Hyundai/Kias more & with the amount of experience I've had, I think I would know, so again, great video, you nailed it in my opinion, these all hold up way better than people think. I tell people all the time, whenever they're saying something bad about Chrysler/Dodge or Hyundai/Kia (which I realize are completely different brands), that they need to stop watching Scotty Kilmer. People have no idea that not only does Honda, historically have more recalls than any other brand (in their defense, they do take care of it fast & in a hurry), but Toyota actually has the most catastrophic recall in automobile history, which was oddly overshadowed shortly after, by the GM ignition switch recall, which paled in comparison to Toyotas, as it effected Lexus' too & killed way more people, not just in the United States, but worldwide. Certain brands issues, get swept under the rug, while others, people have their pitchforks out for. While I do agree that Hyundai should have recalled the issues they have going on now, no doubt, most fires happened after 100,000 miles, hence why it took so long to recall, in the meantime, Honda GDi engines, which Hyundai/Kia actually perfected, found in 2016+ Civic & CRVs, are catching fire at just 20,000 miles, but no one talks about that, just like no one talks about how the Civic was the most stolen car for 25+ years. Again, I've had almost 50 cars so there's absolutely nothing that anyone can tell me about a car.

I have a 2009 rt with 130k, sadly its starting the infamous quarter panel rot, but it's been pretty good other then having to replace timing guide that broke off in the engine. One day I did an oil change on the car and found a bolt fell out, the engine was running fine. However the timing chain was rubbing up against the timing cover so eventually would have gouged a hole through it, lucky I was up on an oil change that week..... They were known for this issue when the guides would get brittle, the bolt would back out and allow the guide to get chewed up. They went through recalls with them but all they did was replace them with another plastic crap one. I replaced it with the nice cast aluminum one you get now. But that has been the only real issue with mine. This was the engine with MDS, and this seems to be only really an issue on automatics. Anyone that owns any from 2009 and coming up too 100k , expect this to happen. Even if you had the recall done early in its life, it may still happen. Be aware. Im still on the stock struts, shocks from the factory lol.

@SkumleBones
@SkumleBones 2 ай бұрын
@@israelisreal7781 I mean. Seems like a decent deal, the only things I recommend firstly at that point is making sure the transmission seems good. Secondly the undercarriage is decent. Thirdly check struts/shocks for a lot of rust buildup. Then check the tire wear (tires on average for this car are 200+ per tire) Be weary of the auto's with MDS because those are prone to going bad before the manual versions of the cars. If you have someone who knows how to use a scantool it would be good to hook up and see if anything was cleared recently. See if the owner will let you do a ride along or let you test drive it, if they allow none of those things, walk away. After the purchase, drive drive drive as much as you can. If you notice any lights or problems, call the seller. Lemon laws exist in each state, make sure to look up the specifics because some states do only new and some do both used and new cars. Challengers are premium cars so if anything would be wrong with it, it's not best to put cheap replacements which means it can be expensive to maintain.

I think as far as domestic vehicles usually front wheel drive A to B cars Id be leary of. I'd go to Toyota or others for that but rear drive cars and trucks also 4x4 trucks domestic car makers aren't too bad. I believe GM and Ford decided to just get away from even making front drive passenger cars. Challenger looks good. Personally I'd like to get another mustang at some point. As far as GM I've had 3 of their trucks. As far as the older ones I can't complain.
