Mine makes a similar noise when in gear and idling. It doesn't Only do it on start up.. has a gurgling sound. Wondering if my problem is the VVt or the timing chain tensioner.

I wish Discount Tire would open a store in Twin Falls, Idaho. It would give the local tire chains some competition in providing a larger selection of tires at a much better price, and better service.

I bought a gallon bucket of woolwax. Good stuff, Did it once years ago, and only have to touch up a little here and there since. Still got 3 gallons of it left. I have been spraying that SS in doors since it's lighter.

I bought a 2021 ram 1500 5.7 etorque in July 2023. Was a 2 year 30k mile lease return. I paid $36k, and the MSRP new was $60k. $1k a month depreciation those first couple years. I would never buy a 3.0 turbo in a truck this big... won't last. I also wouldn't buy a new truck unless to get $15-20k off msrp

You didn’t align it with the tires off did you? When you take the weight off the suspension, it’s going to tow the tires in towards each other. If you’re having the darting back and forth, you may have them kicked out away from each other with weight on. If you really wanted to get crazy, you could align it with normal operating weight in it. Like even weigh it down with you and your wife’s weight equivalent.

The only issues on the older ones were the cam towers and timing chain cover would seep oil. But it was always reliable

Hopefully you get this message. I know why your truck's only getting 13 miles to the gallon. It's because your settings are wrong. Your settings default into kilometers not miles. If you've ever had any kind of work done battery or any updates to your truck, that'll put it in the default. In default mode, it will read 13 miles to the gallon. Use the arrows on your steering wheel and find where it says miles or kilometers. It should be in miles not kilometers. And then you'll get 18 to 20 miles to the gallon instead of 13, maybe 15 at the most.

Its not even just being a twin that makes the sound, its gotta be a V twin. The inline twin rzrs use dont sound bad, per say, but just dont have that sweet note a V twin has. Even the V twin on my zero turn mower sounds good lol.

Thanks for being good to this truck. I get guys want to support their country but the weird thing is fords, chevys, and dodge are not American trucks anymore. The tundra is the only truck made in America, and it is no question the best truck made. Yes Toyota has issues with new models, once they are figured out they last forever. If you are a true American and want American made, get a tundra. If you drive a Chevy, ford, or dodge…..your truck is hecho en Mexico.

Interesting I’ve never seen mufflers like that before! Sounds great and a huge win with no drone on the inside. Flowmaster mufflers always drone but we’re the go to choice back in the day. I’ve had the complete Borla kit, x-pipe, mid pipes and Atak mufflers on my 2012 GT since it was brand new and have been very happy with it. It was very pricey though and a bit more raspy but I love it. It has no drone either at any cruising RPM.

Just add fender flares. Also , if the exhaust is too loud , can you just cut a pipe and splice in a glass pack (in addition to the existing mufflers) .

I've had my KO2s for 70K + miles (and still going) in 5.5 years of use. I live in S. FL. where we have rainy (stormy) seasons as well as blistering summers. I seldom slip and the tires have not dry rotted yet. It's rotated and balanced about once a year and the wear is perfect. I haven't even aligned the truck in 5.5 years. I'm not saying that people don't have issues with these tires, it's well documented, but I have not. I can see how a pickup or any truck with a lighter rear end will certainly slip. As much as I'm interested in the AT4W, the weight is a big turn off.

I have done it climbing the I-26 pass to Asheville in the Appalachian mountains. I am re-geared to 4.56 on 37s at max weight. It was 92 outside and humid running 70-75. Trick is 55-60 it will do it no issues. Never had an issue on the trails climbing crazy in 4 low for 12 hours straight.

I have KO2's on my Tundra that I take offroad in Baja and they have held up great. Good traction in the dry, loose, rocky stuff when aired down a bit (20-25 psi). Previously had the original KO's and they chipped quickly on the same terrain (mainly from the rock embedded hard pack dirt road sections). It doesn't rain/snow where I go, so I don't have much concern about traction in those conditions. Never had balance issues with either...maybe I was just lucky. I went with the BFG's partly because of their stout sidewall to help prevent getting flats in Baja. I'm glad my KO2's still have many miles left to go so I can hear what the long term reports are on the KO3's, and also check out other options for the next set of tires.

Us "older" guys have known to throw a tid-bit thicker oil in cars that tick for a lot of moons. Unscrupulous sellers still do it to cover up issues. And, to all the people saying the oil makes or breaks "2 mpgs" ... show me. No way it impacts mpg that much. Happy Saturday.

The eco diesel engine is really heavy and Robs payload. I have read that the eco diesel payload is something like 1,250#, of this is accurate then this is unacceptable for a full sized truck.

It’s pretty nice to see a review from someone who seems to be very skeptical of Toyota but doesn’t have an agenda against them. Seems very much like a very honest review. I’m looking for a 2007 and up myself. Just seem to see a lot of them for sale in the 300k plus range and I don’t see any trucks by ford or ram or Chevy at those miles within the year 2007 and up. Thats proof enough for me. Would say the critique of the 2022’s and up is a little random. You never buy the first 2-3 years of a redesign. Unless it’s been 10 years and it turns out they were proven to be some
