Thank you for this great reaction guys! Wintersun, a hell of a band when it comes to talent and musicianship. Two of them play now in Nightwish and one in Megadeth. That says it all :-D

Loneliness from the forests seasons album, is the one to really hear Jari's voice❤❤❤ That song really touches my emotions, especially the two last lines: some day when everything is gone, the trail in the snow dissapears, am I finally home🥰🥰🥰🥰 The song Jari wrote to his late father, who seems to have passed on rather suddenly 😢

Great reaction! Finland seems to have so many criminally underrated bands like wintersun and every reaction helps. Could you please check out another band from Finland that should be playing stadiums… Von Herzen Brothers. They have a catalogue of great songs but try Willing Victim live from Tavastia (2008). They’re post grunge progrock if you must categorize.

You are right about the mix. This is studio live and lot of the stuff is also coming from backing tracks. You would expect that you would here all the instruments clearly. The bass is quite difficult to hear and also the drums are not mixed the best way. I think it sounds really good, but the soundscape could be more clear. Compared to the album version this sounds more live and the guitars are more on top of the mix. I kind of like more than the album version. But I still recommend listening to the album version too. There are lots of cool stuff happening on the backing tracks, which you really can't hear that well in this version.

I like these Pump versions better because I don't like synts when listening with earphones. They are little bit chaotic. And I think the bass is too low in the mix.

Imo the guitars are a bit too low in the mix, so the rehearsals of the Time album are my favorites.

It sounds like they have an additional piezo pickup built into their bridge for their acoustic parts. I have seen this already in some of the Telecaster guitars from "Tausch" guitars from Germany.

Still love this track (better than the blast beat overkill SOWAS where Jari tried to cram too many ideas into one song imo). Kai playing 4/4 over triplets and showing his (ambi)dexterity is a sight to behold. Being a drummer boi myself, it's nice to see confirmation of my early suspicions that Kai is a leftie. Starts out standard r-hand style at 7:50 and switches over to open l-hand at 8:04 🤘 Cheers from Amsterdam!

Jari always crams too much into each and every song. Total keyboard overkill here, as usual. Man's downloaded abt. 666 MIDI packs and wants to use them ALL and NOW!🤣 I don't know much about drums. When I needed them, they would just play themselves in Reaper or whatever... That's how most trve kvlt black metal drummers work.😊 Who, in your opinion, are the best drummah boiz in metal at the moment? I mean, I know the #1 (Lars is untouchable), but what about the others? O.T. Did the 👽 spare you for now?

The guitarduet somewhere half way is wonderful. Awesome musicians they are. I bet you know Opeth, a black metal proggy jazz band also with a lot of long and ever meandering songs. Swedish they are. There must be something special in that Skandinavian water I guess?

If you want to hear Jari just ripping his guitar to shreds, try Winter Madness.. There's like a minute long well composed shred solo that almost sounds like classical music.

So the reason it is Time 1 is because Time 2 has not been released yet. Time was supposed to be the album, but Jari split it in two. Supposedly, because he just couldn't get the tech to work with all the orchestral backing tracks (too heavy for his computer lol). Still I wonder, is there more? because they have released another album after this. But where is time 2? Also "Darkness and Frost" is the intro on the CD, hence the title.
