Great info, i've broken my front and rear wheel bearings after only 1 year with KMC beadlock wheels which have -38mm offset and lots of offroading in mud..

If I understand correctly...8 have a 2018 Jeep Sahara JL. The stock wheel is 44mm offset. I am looking at wheels that are 15 to 18 mm offset. If I understand right, this change from 44 to 18 will push my wheel/tire out from the fender by 1”.....IF I have the same wheel diameter/width. I am leaning toward a 9” wheel width vs the stock 7.5”. How does that change the offset visual?

2017 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. My wife’s vehicle. It is a daily driver and will never go off road. She found a set of 20 x 10 wheels that she likes, but I am in agreement with you. Too much stick out is rough on bearings and ball joints. Every video I see, has a -24 or -44 offset, which I do not like I would rather the inside edge of the wheel be as close to stock as possible, but I do not want any rubbing issues. What are your thoughts on Proper backspacing? Thanks

I’ve got a basic Lt stock 2020 Jeep jl rubicon recon meaning the mods I have completed are the light bars, cb nothing for the drive train. Ihave thebstock wheels and tires not upgrades there. I know this does come with a factory lift kit. I’m wanting to offset the stock tire out as far as reasonable for Highway stability. I think steel wheels would be better than aluminum ones. Is that correct? I live in New Mexico so I’m not sure what the laws are here. I travel to South Carolina to visit relatives some and also go to ax,Utah and up to Montana at times to give you the scope of the states that it might see most of the point to point travel will have it flat towed but like all thing it might be necessary to unhook from the Motorhome and use the Jeep for getting parts and stuff or trail ride an event along the way. So it has 17x17.5 wheels with LT285/70R17C BSW M/T. THE ONLY ADDITIONAL item is I would like to get bead lockers. I want as much steel stability as possible for a high center of gravity vehicle. I gaining confidence as I put more miles under me but I’m sure there will be emergency situation s that will surprise me down the road.

Hi Josh would there be any issues with a 18" rim with an offset of +30 for a 2021 Jeep Rubicon JL, I have searched everywhere and can not find any info on a +30 offset for the Rubicon ....thanks, understanding the offset for me is ok, but seeing it I cant find

Great video. Is there an easy way to find out the offset of my current rims (without taking off the tire)?

It does list the offset on the back side of one of the spokes. You willl have to turn your wheel and then crawl under to see it. Will say "ET" and then a number which will be your offset.

Why couldn't the standard be something everyone can understand? Why cant positive offset push the tires out and negative pull them in? Wouldnt that make more sense?

Right?! Not sure where exactly the origination of determining the offsets lingo came from, but it does seem backwards! lol

Hi there, i have a 2018 jeep jkur with a 2 inch lift, i have just got 285/70/18 ridge grapplers from stock 255/70/18s and I was wondering what offset for rims i should be running?? THanks

Hey Shav! Depends on what you like! If you like them to stick out a bit but still be functional on the trails you should stay at 0 to -18.

@@TrailBuilt Ah sweet as. I live in australia and the laws prevent you from having tyres poke out the fenders, so what would offset do you think would be biggest i could go before its significantly sticking out of the fenders, thanks

So....... all i'm trying to do is have a better looking wheel on my 17 JK. I want a Bone Stock offset wheel. I'm not seeking any change in handling or extra service issues. Only a better looking Stock measurement wheel. Oh...... and I'm lost on this topic!
