Nice job, I have moved my opener over to the next panel rib off center on a 16' wide door and it has been working without issues for 6 years and counting, Keep in mind it takes little lifting power / pressure to open a door when the door and springs are adjusted properly. Check by pulling up and down on one of the offset rollers to see how your door opens and closes a few times, before moving the opener to that location.

Hell yes you can move your existing opener it’s very easy depending on your door if your welds on the bracket are really strong in the around everything holds up you won’t have an issue but the only thing I do recommend changing is the door arm angle it’s not supposed to be that aggressive you want a little bit of an angle not straight up and down and then your emergency release rope and knob is missing

Common sense tells me that if you can lift the door manually from a particular off-center position then it shouldn't be a problem for the opener to lift it from that position. Adjust the springs so that it can be easily lifted by hand from the location that you want the opener and the opener should not have a problem from there either.

How do you like your BendPak 2 post lift. I'm considering putting one in my 10' ceiling garage. Any advice would be appreciated.

my garage door has been off center by about 2 feet... we live in Canada with a ton of snow and bad weather.. in 15yrs have NEVER had a problem... Im even about to insulate it that will add some weight to it... a little worried about it but let er buck and see what happens..

Steve, not to pick on you or anything but why exactly is the motor so low on the ones I’ve had they’ve been straight up on the ceiling. Why not just potentially move the motor up and trim the bracket? But overall great job as always

Excellent! I have a low ceiling and a joist is centered w the garage door. Plan on running it a little offset. Appreciate you making this. Also, any problems since then or things you’ve observed w it ?
