New Zealand and Cedros island have to be the other two on top of the list that I’ve been to internationally. In the states it’s hard to beat southeast Florida, Southern California and Texas for diversity of species. But I’m still new to exploring the northern states so who knows man!! My favorite place to kayak fish is somewhere I’ve never kayak fished before!!

Maybe. Looks more like a Malabar grouper. But neither one’s range comes very close to Panama, so this would be news to the ichthiologist community. We’re a loooooong way from Australia.

What you're catching in the Persian/Arabian Gulf is a Rock Hind (grouper) Epinephelus adscensionis. May also be a variant of his.

Don’t believe it was an orange spotted grouper. No orange spots. Definitely not a rock hind. Might be a Malabar grouper but haven’t confirmed yet

Wondering if guest get to take fish home with them? I know when you come back from Canada... to the states... you can only bring so much home. What's it like there? Or is it too far and no way to get through customs?

It’s possible, but nobody really does it. We’re out in the jungle man, 5.5 hour ride from Panama City and the hotels there aren’t really experienced in handling it. We eat fish every night, most of it gets eaten up. You may be sick of fish by the time you leave 😂

Funny you said the bait won't die, but not to worry, it wont last, be patient. I was there last year the day before you showed up for the tournament. I dragged that bait around all day and never got anything. just unlucky I guess.

Handles it great! Could use a bigger rudder and I already put that into motion. We’ll have a rudder upgrade available soon. Other than that it did fantastic. Super stable and comfortable

something else you might try, after you filet the fish ,remove head and batter the body and fry eat the meat off the bones, wouldn`t recommend for kids. another great episode bru.
