Not the first time that I have describe this lady as an athlete, a magician with a column of air, as much as a phenominal vocalist. I'm only listening to this and it leaves me exhausted. Ofra haza was a very famous israeli singer. She was singing a lot of her songs in hebrew language. I think, that she was very amazing and i love her very much. She died in the year 2000, when she was 43 years old. This song 'kashmir' And its video are also very beautiful.

I love the songs of Ofra Haza - she is such a tragic figure, and her songs reflect in many ways her final departure from this world. So tragic.

I hope that through KZfaq more and more people will discover Ofra Haza and realise what a truly fantastic singer she was. She was supremely talented and endlessly versatile - Oh, what could she have produced for us in the last seven years had her life not been so stupidly squandered by the fool that she married !!!

I dont know why I'm drawn to middle eastern music. Ofra has captured with her voice what Led Zeppelin has done with their sound in Kashmir. I would love to hear a middle eastern orchestra perform this song with that haunting desert feel, but still keeping in the original beat of Kashmir and sung by Ofra's beautifull voice. I've enjoyed this rendition of Kashmir, thank you Ofra.

The moment i started listening to this, i immediately forgot who originally composed and sang it. And i say that, knowing that Led Zeppelin is one of my all time favorite music acts. Now, i know what this song should sound like, from the very beginning. I am in love... with Ofra Haza.

At first, I was searching for Led Zep's version. For some reason, I can always concentrate better when listening ti Kashmir while writing. Then, I stumbled upon this version... and I must admit, I do not at all regret it. At first, during the first few seconds, I was hesitant to listen to the rest and almost left. I am happy to say I stayed. This is absolutely wonderful! I'm in awe. Such intense feelings come out of it, it brings me on a musical high. The video was also very well made.

This reminds me of the first time I heard it in a mystic trance. I have loved Ofra since the first time I heard Im Nim' alu. The mix of the two is in an orgasm of mystic memory and sense......I am grateful to be placed in this universe by the one.

Came here based on information provided on wikipedia about the song. This is an excellent version, I prefer it to her other version with the music personally. The band always considered themselves (and least Plant stated) "worldly" so it is fitting that this ladies voice provides her interpretations of this particular song, outstanding.

Even an iffy cover cannot detract from the excellence of the songwriting. Listen to the chord change at the chorus and the way the vocal note plays. Middleeastern sounding? you damn betcha! Way to go Mr Page!

I just read her story... a tragedy I can relate to all too well, as I lost my wife in exactly the same manner... HIV contraction due to a blood transfusion after a miscarriage. The world has lost too many wonderful people this way.

I shall miss her. I use to switch back and forth between her, Sheila Chandra and Miriam Makeba and felt a citizen of a beautiful world...but that was years ago. Serenity is where you find it.
