Wonder what happened to this blade when used as a anchor pulling a stuck D11. Never would have done it that way, but to each his own.
@ravenbarsrepairs5594

Likely depends on how it was set up. I'd be concerned about the strength of the skin on the blade being the weak point. If the blade was set up fug into the ground, the weight of the machine isn't really even a factor, provided it's dug in deep enough. They'd likely have had better success hooking to the rear of the machine.

Interesting, , at 4:30, because of the polished surface of blade, you can make a pretty good 90 degree line up by looking at reflection of padeye in the blade...if the blade and padeye line up, the padeye is 90 degrees to blade.....great video, that is a bad mama mama plasma you have.....100 amps? cheers, Paul

Hypothetical question and understand it's ultimately a 'what the customer wants' situation but.... this seems like an odd location for an anchor point, on a 'push' surface rather than a pull surface - why not rear hitch mount?

Great job. Just curious as why the bevel. In my line of work I would've had it flat an run stringers the same way the factory would've done on the machine itself. Less chance of slag or porosity in the weld. But nonetheless a good job. Thanks 4 ur content
@OFW

If you or your company are designing weld joints as to not be beveled to avoid slag inclusion, sounds like they/you need to invest in better training for your weldors.

@@williamthomas9463 most industrial machinery doesn't come with bevels. In fact...u can look at his videos of him cutting various parts off these machines an u will see that. Most are butt welded with several stringers. It's a welding process that is very well known. But thank you very much for ur priceless insight. A weld will always be a weld as good as its welder. An he is very good nonetheless. Kings to him
@williamthomas9463

You’re welcome Carlos whether you meant it sincerely or not. You are correct that manufacturers use that method often. However, I think it bears pointing out that manufacturers are trying to produce a product as cheaply as possible. Also, manufacturers have the luxury of welding most things in-position (flat) and therefore are able to use spray arc transfer. Have a blessed day.
