Why?! Lincoln NR 232 Flux core will do the same job much better.

I was trying to figure out why the scrap yard wanted that(looks like the hub\planetary cover from a big machine of some kind - D-11?) on there at all? Then you said the claw grabs it and it made more sense. They didn't want it dedicated to the magnet & wanna swap from claw to magnet. Most yards have both dedicated machines claw & magnet. But for a smaller operation this make more sense having 1 machine do both. Just have quick connect wire plug on boom. It absolutely needs the safty chain cause I can 100% see a new operator throwing the magnet across the yard or crushing someone or their truck\trailer. I've seen some of these guys working at scrap yards & understand why the chain is necessary!😄🤔👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🗜️ 29:50 good shot there explaining it. Cool video. Something different on this one. It must be nice to have the variety of projects to repair. Keeps the work more pleasureable & keeps you thinking. If you love your job, it'll never be work!

I would have thought it should have been heated cherry red or more before you attempted to press it. Anything less than the correct forging temperature will not work. Also, your work place Safety is a bit sus'.

I agree. It should have been hotter, I didn’t have the right equipment for that.

Take this arm to Fire Rite in Detroit they could straighten it and heat treat it when done. Very nice welding. Used to deliver gases and oxygen and argon for Praxair to the welding shops.

I have the same unit, and it runs well on 110v if needed from standard wall 15a outlet or a generator. Most of the time I plug it into my 240v welder supply and it works even better. One possibility is moisture in your air supply could be causing issues on the lower supply voltage. I am running very dry air, and my consumables perform better and last longer too.

That plasma cutter does better than my R-Tech 50amp plasma that cost me £900 ($1200) for 3years ago. On 3/8 plate (10mm) its so slow it is a tedious job. The Bestarc did much better. Not sure if Bestarc is availble here in the UK?

First i wanted to cry because of all the holes they gouged into that nice plate, basically ruining it. Then i remembered: they are welders and they can just fill and grind.

The plate was damaged before welding. So it was already scrap.

You have a great channel, sir! I learn a lot! I also watch this welder in Texas: @txsviking He sounds like Burl Ives. Who doesn't like Burl Ives?!? I find your voice and demeanor relaxing... The guy from Texas does a completely different type of welding with some of the specialized stuff used in the oil fields and in labs. Keep your videos coming! They are great! Best

check your extension cord i recommend 12 awg ,14 might be ok,make sure nothing else is on same circuit running at same time it probably needs the whole 20 amps that breaker puts out.also use the shortest extension cord possible. i tried welding with an old 110v flux core years ago with 200ft of cord and it would not work, made a cord with 250ft of 12awg romex and it worked fine. thanks for the video.
