Ah man this song made me emotional the first couple times i listened to it. It’s such an uplifting song about overcoming obstacles and the unnecessary hate they got through this last era. It truly is a masterpiece and i’m so excited for their next comeback

Ryujin was locking herself in her comfort zone. In the end everything crumbles snd sge decides to unlock the door. Yuna was stuck fearing what others thought of her especially from the previous eras. She escaped with Chaeryeong. Lia is in a closed box with her thoughts. She frees herself. Chaeryeong getting scars from just dancing- from being herself. She comforts the scarred Chaeryeong. Yeji can't stop running bc she's the leader. She fears stopping because everyone is counting on her. The girls run alongside her. She's running still, but she's no longer alone

Speaking on Chae pulling Yuna along made since. In one of their friendship partner interview Yuna shared how when she was 1st a Trainee, she saw Chaeryeong as a celebrity she grew up watching on TV. So she was starstruck when Chae chose to sit with her at lunch one day.

It's not just they joined Yeji after deciding to face their fears. Yeji was the one who ran throughout the MV which symbolizes that her as a LEADER-she has to keep going for her group members. She need to be strong so that her members will be influenced or motivated by her to overcome their fears. It kinda feels sad knowing that Yeji wasn't able to explicitly showcase her own fears because it highkey highlighted her responsibility as a leader.
@incheonguy
@incheonguy Жыл бұрын
This is not correct. Yeji has said she just pushes forward when she has stress or doubts. That's how she copes with it. It has nothing to do with being the leader. In the MV the members must each overcome their own inner issues, themselves, without help from anyone. So they can go foward on their own terms.
@callyyyyyy4896
@callyyyyyy4896 Жыл бұрын
@@incheonguy being ITZY 's leader is definitely a factor though. Leaders bear the biggest pressure within the group since they are always expected to do well and lead the group at the same time. They always try to act strong and not show any discouragement because the members depend on you and look up on you. Not to mention the other responsibilities she bears. It's NEVER easy. So we should never turn a blind eye on Yeji's position as a leader.

@@incheonguy Your point is taken, but I said "wasn't able to explicitly" meaning most midzys I know interpreted it the way I also understood her scene. I didn't deny that she showcased her own fears. I guess it just overlaps your point about her pushing forward (running) as a way of facing her fears because of her position as a leader bearing most of the responsibility in the group. Which she also mentioned in the LETTERS TO MIDZY.
@f4hf4haw4y
@f4hf4haw4y Жыл бұрын
but what if Yeji's fear was losing ITZY all together?? I think that's also possibly another way to look at it. her fear of losing ITZY brings her to keep going, as you have mentioned all those points~~ dont forget, Yeji jumped over that obstacle(?) so her fear definitely involves something to come to an end, or stop. but she will find a way to keep going, so as not to lose herself and not to lose ITZY~~

I always appreciate ur channel bc u both always break it down nicely. This is probably their most authentic and vulnerable track after going through a lot of self doubt last year bc of the unwarranted online hate to their comebacks. I'm glad they've overcome that doubt and realized it doesn't matter, they just gotta believe in themselves regardless if they will fail or succeed

You're one of few youtubers that I actually wait to react when ITZY releases new MVs!! Finally! I really loved your reaction. I think this song and MV is about self love by going out of their comfort zones and moving forward -- choosing themselves while at the same time acknowledging their fears and doubts. Running to the light at the end of the tunnel is a great metaphor for going outside of their comfort zones to move forward and grow further to be a better version of themselves. Beautiful.

I like how the song touches on a couple of important lessons within the main lesson of having faith in ourselves and overcoming self-doubt. Firstly, it is how we must first help ourselves before others are able to help us. You see it in Yuna's storyline - The others at first help break her out of the train only for her to continue to remain trapped shortly after, and it is only after she breaks herself out that she is able to actually escape. Another is in the lyrics. They acknowledge that success isn't actually guaranteed. That sometimes, even when we try, we can still fail. That the doubts and flaws we see in ourselves can sometimes come from a real place. It isn't all just in our heads as some mental block that we can just overcome by simply believing in ourselves. Rather, we become better by trying, maybe sometimes failing in the process, but trying again until we succeed and that it is the act of trying for ourselves that is the most important part.

I feel like this is ITZY's "Feel Special" comeback: a different style with a beautiful MV and really important lyrics. Also, These are my interpretations of the members and the different scenes they're in: Ryujin: she's locking herself in her room and closing the blinds, she's choosing to not face the world, but as the video progresses you see that the windows are open and wind is coming in blowing her stuff around. I think that represents the fact that you can TRY to lock yourself out from the world, but the world is going to seep in whether you want it to or not, so it's better to face it head on, than have the "wind" mess things up for you. Lia: I think the box with her holding a teddy bear represent her inner child, or - because there's a lot of crying motifs (teddy bears and paintings) maybe it's the pressure to lock your emotions away. It could be both, and her part is there to show that it's important to face your own sadness and let it breathe, not just hiding it away in your old childhood bedroom. You need to "unwrap" the box and open up more. Yuna: She's on a train by herself, and seems apprehensive about going into the other carts with other people. I think this represents her feeling like things are moving forward "too fast". Like she's stuck on a ride with people she doesn't know and with reminders of her past "perfect self". The k-pop industry is simultaneously asking for idols to change things up and bring a new look to the next comeback, while at the same time staying the same, and maybe Yuna feels overwhelmed by that? I Also think it's interesting that the other members find her, and help her get out of it; maybe it means that it's okay to lean on friends too. And if you're unsure of where you're going, you can at least have your friends. Chaeryeong: She's surrounded by her dancing "replicas" but also finds herself sitting down looking very sad. The sad Chae has wounds and seems like she's given up. I think this represents that it's possible to be really good at something, and it can really impress other people, but you might still have wounds that you're healing from that one one sees. With Chae specifically it's probably a reference to how mean people were about her when they debuted. Her message is that you need to accept yourself as you are, wounds and all, and that the most important friend you have is yourself. Yeji: she's running the entire video, I think she's sort of "figured out" what she needs to do. But at first she's alone, not just in that she's running alone, but there are no other humans in her "world". She's outside, but it's still empty. I think this represents not being sure which way is "forwards". Sometimes she's running in darkness with no background, and I think this means that she really can't see where she's going, but she's still running and jumping. I think Yeji represents not giving up, and eventually she's joined by the other members, both fixing her "Problem" of being alone, but also showing the other members that it's important to not give up. This is something I've picked up over multiple watchthroughs, but it's just my personal interpretation. I'd love to hear what someone else thinks, do you see this in another way?

I like the train symbolised their journey as idols the past years. From the greatly doubted rookies to stars and the hate train during the checkmate era. Their cb is literally a leap of faith for them, as they represent their brand in a different form. They used to be that unapologetic youth and now i feel like their cb dwells on the crisis and wins people face in their 20' (adulthood).

I feel like the pictures of Yuna are non-coicidentally pictures from Sneakers & Boys Like You... two songs they got a ton of hate for. I feel like she's trying to get out of the train that is nothing but memories of that dark time, and into a healthier mindset with everyone else. Halfway through the video, they tried getting her through to the next subway car, but she eventually stopped when she realized there's STILL pics of Sneakers around her, and she stopped and got sad again. I think she probably took the hate the hardest, being the youngest. But I get super emotional at the end when it's Yeji fearlessly running forward, onto the next great chapter... then she convinces Chaeryoung to join her, then Ryujin, Lia & finally Yuna. Thinking of them cheering each other up in that order also gets me emotional. This is all my theory, it's how I've interpreted this video. And I cannot help but cry every single time. It's so vulnerable and emotional, and I LOVE that the focus is on the lyrics and meaning, and there's zero choreography.

From me as Yeji is A Leader in Itzy, she leads and needs to 'run' Itzy although most of her members gets in bad days like that. And then she helped one by one of her member to be better and run with her and believe in themselves. Yeji helped Chaeryoung first when she went through that she is ugly description things, and then helped Ryujin to be more free to world, and then she helped Lia to be more open with herself like trust to her voice and then lastly helps Yuna to make her believe that she is just not a pick me girl that most of the haters labeled her. Literally Yeji Runs her group to stick together so that they can achieve together.
