Jimmy can't be canceled for his stand-up. Almost all of his jokes are just playing with the meanings of words. Also, many people in the UK still have a sense of humor.

Jimmy owns up to everything (tax scandal is a good example) is honest about what he has said and is adamant that it is never intended to offend, he is willing to be the butt of a joke, people know his style and know what to expect. He just wants to make people laugh he just isn’t afraid to push boundaries.

I think the people do but the hierarchy for comedians is even worse...listen to the great folks on Joe Rogan from recently apologies it's Christmas night and I'm feeling good...but you are still correct but the comedy scene there is as bad as here BUT he got so big before it finally hit he got lucky and deserves it all

The Austrian guy that he spent a lot of time talking about was Josef Fritzl. He kept his daughter captive for 24 years, made her write letters to her mother saying she ran away to join a cult, and had seven children with her. He got caught when one of those children became sick and he took them to the hospital.

He is safer than most comics because all his material is offensive. Comics who just say the occasional very offensive thing are attacked and 'cancelled' more, but people can't pick out one of two jokes to be outraged about with Carr because they would have to be outraged about every line.

Simpel why Jimmy is not getting canceled....because he tells jokes and is funny. A lot of other comedians say jokes like this and like Dave Chappelle put in their own political views and feelings. Its the difference between telling a joke, or bully and attack people. And let's be real.....99% of them never get canceled. Look at Loius ck. Sexual assaulted a lot of women (the act he admitted to) they say it was assault, and that his manager threatened them. And he still has a job.

In 1995, in Oklahoma City, OK, a bomb was detonated in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building which used a special kind of fertilizer, giving it extra power. Over a third of the building was destroyed, killing a LOT of people. The main perpetrator that became famous was Timothy McVeigh. It is unbelievable that it has been almost 30 years now.

The uk sense of humour is generally different to the us, it’s much darker, self deprecating, and willing to cross the line… people like Jimmy know exactly where the line is, they push a toe over the line, then pull back, then charge all the way through it like a bull in a China shop!

Oklahoma was a truck loaded with _a lot_ of artificial fertilizer (lots of nitrogen in that, easy to make bombs with). Look up "Oklahoma City bombing". The joke that everything in that garden grows great, which you usually get when you _fertilize_ plants well.

Ammonium Nitrate is fertiliser. It's also very combustible when mixed with other agents. You can make a bomb or methylamphetamine.

Yeah comedy and hiphop has allot in common, I had that discussion with a work colleague last week as he wants to try doing some hiphop, i told him about the basic setup bridge and punchline method which makes both hiphop and comedy pretty much identical, but each is executed in a timely manner that suits each format

One has to be really uninterested in world events not to know about Joseph Fritzl. BTW his wife knew about him building the cellar, he claimed it was a nuclear bomb shelter, but he ruled the house completely, and the entrance to the section where his daughter and the children she delivered were imprisoned was concealed. Three of the kids stayed with their mum, one died soon after birth and the father/grandfather incinerated the body, and the final three were taken upstairs. Well actually they were taken from their mother before they could walk and left on the doorstep with notes that Fritzl forced his daughter to write.

The reason I think Jimmy's jokes are a lot less offensive than some other 'edgy' type comedians is that a) They're all clearly not actually 'about' the subject, they're just wordplay, and b) the hyperbolically dark content and quick-fire, one-liner nature of the jokes make it very easy to discern that it's not his actual opinion, and he's not actually trying to punch down at anyone. That last point really comes down to execution as well. You have to really nail that style if you're going to get away with it, if you miss even slightly you can start to be genuinely offensive. The other important part is knowing your audience. Jimmy only goes nearly this far at his own shows, where people knows what they've paid for. I would also like to see content warnings be used a lot more though, especially for things like youtube videos and streamed specials, but even for live shows. It's a nice simple extra step that doesn't cost you anything, but would catch a few people who don't know what they're signing up for and could be genuinely affected by this stuff

Often Jimmy jokes aren't even about the "offensive" subject, they're just silly word play. He'll also never be cancelled because people in the UK haven't got to were Americans are where EVERYTHING is considered offensive.
