Bro I brought mine into class for an extra credit report because my teacher asked if I would be willing to share my culture, so I did, and I was really taking a huge step out of my comfort zone and while I presented everyone kept laughing and giggling, only one person who did that apologized (her and I are on good terms now). Another girl literally just asked me a really rude personal question in front of the class and then acted like she just wanted to be my friend when I was in a conversation with someone she knew a few weeks later. Needless to say I dropped out of the class, and chose something else.

am i the only one who would have been so offended by this? devi took it like a champ. if someone approached me asking for a photo of me wearing a lengha claiming ‘i look like jasmine’ and then making me seem like the villain if i politely refused, id be pissed beyond belief. just because we are wearing something similar to a cartoon, does not make us one- people of different cultures are not fantasy creatures you can point and prod at. also why tf did that literal child have insta 😭
