OH NO!!! My Ink Cartridge Auto Reset Chip is Not Resetting!
I just purchased some Chinese Manufactured Single use or Auto Reset Chips from A Company and out of the whole lot, one chips is not being recognized or can not reset to full as designed!!
Well do not be shocked.
Even OEM chips can sometimes malfunction or FAIL
Every third party reseller I know of will replace that chip ono your word.
BUT... you should return the faulty chip so they can get monetary credit for it.
It is the honest thing to do after all.

I am running a cross a very strange problem. I have the Canon Pro 100. I refilled two cartridges. I reset the cartridges. Iget #2 and #7 hardware error. Same error when I reset these extra cartridges I have. Did my reset go bad? Bad chips? I turned off the machine from the power. I removed and put back in the cartridges. Still same issue. Solved it. I need to keep the cartridge in the reset longer then I did. Simple, but if you haven't done it for awhile one forgets. I saw the light blink, thought it was good. Nope, need to keep it in the reset until the light stays on.

Hi. Where might I buy chips for canon 6100s? How can I tell chips apart to find them online? Also chip reseter is not for sale anywhere. What is chip reseter made of, what are these needles? A lot of Q-s?

The more potential issues that I realise can occur with refilling, the less inclined I am to consider doing it lol. Sure, refilling is a great cost saver if you do everything right but honestly there seems a lot of hassle attached to the process. Money saving aside, I'd feel like a slave to my printer going through all the various processes and having to get them 100% correct to keep my printer functional. Good job for us we have you Jose to guide us along the way, otherwise for many, refilling would be anything but cost effective 😉☺

I have a canon ic6820 I've went through a full bottle of ink trying to clean nozzles. I've taken the print head out and even manually cleaned. I redownloaded the drivers multiple times. My pages are white no ink is getting on the paper. This printer is brand new still nothing.

Not sure. I do not have that model. You'd have search 3rd party companies to see if ARCs for it exist.

Need chips reset but do not have chip resetter but inks are full printer saying it's empty!

Then you are in trouble. EPSON carts such as those can not be refilled or Reset.

Search for 3rd party ink sellers to see if that model is even supported.

Model Number of the cartridges. Then look on EBAY for the same but add the word Refillable.

Single use chips are as big of a rip-off as factory ink cartridges. Think about it, you will have to not only buy bottles of ink you will also have to buy new chips every time, at a cost of around $27 bucks for a whole kit. So that's $27 bucks for chips AND the cost to buy the ink. If you do a lot of printing like I do, the ink will last you maybe 12 months(so you save there) but if you burn through ink and have to refill every couple weeks like I do, that's over $50 bucks a month to buy new chips. A new set of cartridges will cost you about $40 bucks a month. So how the hell is doing it this way any cheaper? A chip resetter is more cost effective "IF" you can get one that works with your cartridges. My printer is new and takes the XL202 ink cartridges so they don't have a chip resetter that will work on these, yet.

Compare those costs to OEM and it is a lot cheaper. Besides AUTO RESET CHIPS are a one time investment. Single use are about $3 plus about a dollar worth of ink to refill. That is a lot better than $15-$20 per cart. No one ever said printing was cheap.

@@cheo1949 where did I mention resetable chips? I said "one time use" chips. Contrary to popular belief, not every single printer on the market has an after-market counterpart for the ink cartridges. Mine doesn't. I have the Epson expression home XP 5100 that does not have a chip resetter OR resetable chips at this time. They have a few from China that "claim" to work on mine but I trust them less than the American market. Those Chinese sites will tell you their products will light up your cats butthole if it makes them a sale.

OK and I still say you are ending up a lot cheaper that buying OEM single carts.

@@cheo1949 yes you are, "IF" your model has the resettable chips/tool available and/or refillable cartridges. I don't have those at this time for my model.
