Mushoku Tensei switches genres constantly, but it never ever drops the theme of Family. And Family Drama is its domain. Characters are complex, resolutions can be very different than what we'd come to expect (Like Norn solving this all on her own), but that's what makes it great. The author's mom saved him, which is one of the inspirations for this theme, and this theme of family truly shines in this episode.

I'm so glad you have avoided the opening. Overall if you watched it it's not the end of the world. It's pretty spoiler heavy. But it's a pet peeve of mine for opening like this to exist. Most of the past ones have been fine. But not season 2 core 2. I'm not against those who watch it etc. I'm against the people who created it. I think I understand why they did it. But yes I would avoid it too. Actually fun fact I avoid 99.9% of all video game, anime intros. You know how some video games have like that anime song or start menu preview of the game. I don't watch those. As they spoil. Why I loved MT season 1 more as the intro was just eye candy, and bit of lore etc. No classic intro. I kind of wish they kept that for season 2. It was also like an extra minute of content.

Rudeus will never had a chance againts orsted 😂. He didn't even serious againts Ruijerd and Eris. If he serious he will take out his Sword and not only using hands im sure he can take down 3 lowest 7 great Power at the same time. There's alot stronger people that don't even get into seven great power
