Oh, The Huge Manatee... | Manatee Watching At Blue Spring State Park

We made our annual December visit to Blue Spring State Park to see how many manatees had migrated to the spring. It was a bit of a rainy and dreary day, but we enjoyed the walk and we were able to see over 100 sea cows before heading home. We were testing out our new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera as well, so some of the audio and video may be a little wonky for the initial voyage.

I've always wanted to go to the Springs when the Manatees came in for warmth. I never got the chance to due to an illness. I really appreciate these videos that you do.

We say hello to everyone we pass and they do either stare or look down to the ground.

My girlfriend have been there a ton of times. I usually do scuba diving and she snorkels at the top. One time we were in there and there’s was a smaller manatee that was following her around and would go under her and surface so that my gf was on its back! 😂 needless to say Blue Spring is our favorite. Side note, that area you talk about being unsafe is pretty safe. It’s just people not following the rules of diving or just being stupid and going into restrictions. Either way we dive in that all the time if you’d like to join us.

I think you are spot on with divers/snorkelers not following rules in that area. I've had a manatee swim up to me before as well and it really makes the spring area special.

The audio on this seemed really quiet to me, I had to have my volume up to nearly 100% I wish I lived near somewhere like this, I'd be out there swimming everyday that I could

We were trying out some new camrea/audio gear. Hopefully, the audio will be more consistent going forward. We also couldn't speak very loudly when we are in the middle of a crowd of other people that are all whispering.

Could hardly hear any voice audio in the entire video. Had to turn the volume up extra loud and sit close to hear. Just wanted to let you know. Love your vlogs
