If she doesn’t do it now, she’ll have to wait hundreds of years for the next opportunity.

A normal solstice is like souzen's comet. An apogee solstice is like if there were 3 souzen's comets and they all were in effect at the same time.

I really love Calamity even though I cry every time I rewatch it. Brennan is a GM over on Dropout TV and has his own actual play show Dimension 20, Lou is a regular player there. Dimension 20 is more of an anthology series, with each season being a different story with a max of around 20 episodes that run around 2 hours each. They focuse on more on comedy with lots of akward funny situations. It is definitely worth checking out (and Im dying to see reactions to their shows). Im looking forward to the next episode soon!

hierophant- a title meaning “chief” abjura- banisher college of abjuration- a dnd school of magic (all wizards are magic students, picking a “college/school of magic” to focus on is like picking a Major for their Master’s Degree) that deals in protective spells and the suppression of others' magic. Magic of this school creates physical or magical barriers, negates magical or physical abilities, harms trespassers, or even banishes the target of the spell to another plane of existence. architect arcane- the only one who builds large protective magical machines aka the blueprints so Aabria’s character Laerryn is HUGE in protection and support magic for both her, her teammates, and the people of avalir despite being a Wizard, not a common healing/support class like Cleric, Bard, Druid, and Paladin there are more ways to protect your teammates in dnd than just replenishing their health constantly, but by providing magical bubble shields, boosts to defensive stats like armor class, etc etc

I love all the little vignettes that all the cast got into their characters. You get just enough to get a snapshot into who they are and what’s important to them. Marisha got excited over the mention of spell kites probably because Brennan gave them an 8 page lore document for them to be able to know the city and what types of things are in this world. They talk about that in the campaign wrap up.

Fun fact, Lou is the announcer for the Jimmy Kimmel show. Another fun fact, Lou and Brennan go way back in their improv comedy careers. The two of them are basically the best best buddies of online comedy. Laerynn wants the Apogee Solstice to kick off because she's got a secret side project that's going to take a fuckton of magic to make it work.

also the navigators guild are the people who steer the floating city of avalir they are the pilots of the city while Laerryn is the person who maintains the citys protective magical measures (aka not ground forces/army) and magical machinery

42:36 yeah, hes really good at accents and voices... I would say Matt is slightly better than him but Matt is also a professional voice actor whereas Brennan is mainly an improv comedian... He does not do voices and accents as a profession but kind of just learned it through doing improv and charater acting and D&D dming. Both of them are incredibly impressive! Accent work is not easy to do but I'd say it's slightly more impressive for Brennan because he's not doing it as his job necessarily... I mean he is now able to make his dming and accent work into his job... But he didn't go to school for voice over work. Brennan actually a philosophy major... And he started college when he was 14. So he and his brother were 14 year old philosophy majors... Which is kind of fucking hilarious to imagine 🤣
