Time for some swedish gold for the ole S2k. Ohlins DFV with 10k/8k springs and sakebomb lowering cups in the rear. Dialed in 19mm rear preload to retain some droop travel at 1" drop.
mod list:
1. Ohlins DFV
2. -3.0 camber in front, -2.5 in rear. 0.05 toe out in front, 0.05 toe in in rear
3. Karcepts Front Sway Bar (full soft in this vid)
4. K-tuned rear toe arms
5. Winter wheel setup: Continental DWS06+ (205/225) on AP1 wheels
6. K&N FIPK
7. Miscellaneous wallet depletion

I came from Kw3 now I bought dfv. I think they are superb. Not testing in all set up... but in the default one I am very impressed.

I’m feeling the same way! My s2k has 100k miles and with this suspension I never wanna get rid of my car. Much more grip, comfort and performance. I’m much lower than stock and it’s way smoother and better dampening.

I went from Tein flex Z with EDFC to Ohlins and the difference was immediate. Love the Ohlins!

Nice video! I’m thinking about getting Ohlins to replace my HKS Hypermax 20spec. The HKS are decent but they have a bounciness that I just can’t dial out. They have 10k springs and handle well but I’m looking for a little more control and composure. More settled feel. I don’t think my curiosity will ever be satisfied untill I try Ohlins.

Great choice, mine coming Monday. Did they feel any lighter than Bilsteins? Also where did you mount the mic? that intake sounds 😅👌

Lighter? Idk didn’t weigh em. The rears are almost definitely lighter since they don’t have external reservoir like the Bilsteins or OEM. Video and mic is my iPhone 14 Pro mounted using the modifry GoPro mount thingy with a phone holder. Works like a charm! Who needs GoPros 🙄

@@feelsgoodS2K They are heree and oh my they are light 😅, I would like to ask..(because I seem to have got the 11k-7k springs, I thought they came with 10k-8k and even that was considered too soft with owners swapping to swift springs 12k-10k rear, what do you have?

@@Youknowme2222 nice! Mine are 10/8. I think Ohlins switched to 11/7 at one point which everyone was up in arms about... I daily drive my car around some shit city roads, and the rears at 8k, even on full soft on the dampers, is definitely not super comfortable. I'd not be happy with 10k rear for a daily, that's for sure. 7k would be more comfy, but 1: F/R balance would be even more skewed towards understeer than 10/8, and 2: it would hit the bumpstops a ton at the recommended preload setting of 2mm. Rear preload settings on the Ohlins rears, as you may have already read, is a touchy subject, and even more problematic on the 7k spring. In order to avoid the bumpstop issue, i.e. dialing in the amount of preload necessary for proper droop travel while still allowing the car to be lowering 1" or more, folks do one of two things. Either they buy the SBG lowering cups, or go with a 10k spring in rear to reduce the likelihood of the suspension compressing to the point of bottoming out. I chose to go with the first option, which allows me to dial in 19mm preload, maintain some level of comfort in the rear, and still drop the ride height by 1". Hope that helps :)

@@feelsgoodS2K Does ohlins sell springs separately? And still if I get 10k ohlins springs for the rear ill be having 11k up front🤔 and If I go swift 12k front ill be having 11k in the rear 🤔

@@Youknowme2222 if you go for different springs in rear you could easily find a used or new set as long as they are the right spec. People with 10k/8k often sell their 8k springs, buy 12s, then swap the 10s they have the rear. You could also buy 10k swift springs which would be a bit lighter. As for F/R balance, plenty of people go with 11k/10k and are happy. It’s a bit more oversteer focused than 12/10, but to what extent really depends on your cars state of tune elsewhere: Staggered tires, chunky front sway bar, stock front alignment? You’re probably fine. Square setup, stock front sway bar, aggressive front alignment? It’ll be more spiky for sure. I believe Andrew hake, the o__OS2000 guy (look him up if you haven’t) had the even 10k/10k setup with his car and you can see how well that car drives. Depends on your driving style, use case, and existing mods. But the main thing is you have Ohlins and that’s never not dope.

Nope. First clip is Rt. 250 just west of Monterey, VA. Others are scattered nearby. Skyline drive has too many humans 👀
