Hi Alice, nice to see you here. Grace sings to us old timers. When she was very young her parents would play the legends of the 60'and 70's for her and she grew up with them and has a natural appreciation and ear for how greats like Elvis, Dylan, Guthrie, Joplin, Joni Mitchell and Carole King felt the music deeply and were able to project that to the listener. It's the reason she has a legion of older admiring followers, she takes us back to a better time when music was real and delivered with heartfelt real emotion And NOBODY has ever done it better than our Grace! She is a National Treasure! Check out this epic performance: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oc6cgcJ_xs6pZqs.html. Watch her emerge from a trans at the end!

SATC's reboot introduced me to this song. I am struggling with violent trauma, and thing song was the first time I felt real hope since it happened. The song makes me feel like I will overcome this and come out stronger than I was before. I wanted to believe that before, but this is the first time I feel hopeful it's true. Thank you, Grace.

As to bring the voice into the light i see the song as a girl searching for Christ. Angels inside protecting her mind. She sees music as a saviour of sorts. And is a gracefilled girl, shell.make it out and not get sucked in like Taylor swift. By 15 grace been to kenya qith hearing aides. Graduates put through colledge as well . Im almost offended one compares her to the kardasians. She has a mind and lihgt. They have love of self. Big difference.

She is young there is plenty of time for that, I hope she gets the fame she deserves but also that it takes the right amount of time, we know how bad things can get otherwise there has been plenty of examples.

Jaymee Torres LOL JAYMEE AAHHHHAHAA and cute profile picture. Romans 8:31-39 New Living Translation (NLT) Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love. .... “Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love 31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one-for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one-for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I'm a 50 year old medical doctor, science nerd, that doesn't watch TV, listen to much radio, follow pop culture or ever heard of Grace VanderWaal. But I was at the grocery store today and this song was playing on their speaker system. And oh man! This song moved me more than any song I have heard in 20 years. I was like, who is this? Is this a Johnny Nash cover? It's doesn't really sound like the original, but with that refrain, you know exactly where its coming from. It is stunningly beautiful. Eerie, haunting, with some sadness and angst, yet still familiar and comfortable. This song is a 10 out of 10! If you find it in your creative appetite, please make more of these reworked classics. This is absolutely brilliant artwork.

Your emotion is really good and your songs show a real understanding of complex emotional issues. You draw me in and I watch your music videos everyday. I'm 39 but I'm terminally ill and I have chosen your song 'so much more than this' for my funeral. I chose it because I have had to celebrate small accomplishments and not get weighed down in things that really don't matter. Eight years ago I was given two years to live and I'm still here fighting this illness each day. Listening to your music makes me so happy so I thank you for giving me something else to focus on other than pain. I really love your unique voice. I hope your life is full of you doing what inspires you. Xx

In case anyone was confused by some of the recent comment here, like I was, there is a show airing on HBO Max called "And Just Like That". At the end of the most recent episode (S1, E6), Sarah Jessica Parker puts an album on a small turntable and starts playing Johnny Nash's, "I Can See Clearly Now", and as the credits start rolling, the music segues into Grace's version of "Clearly". Very cool.

[Verse 1] There's a world outside my door I don't know it anymore I'm gonna stay here now I'm gonna stay here now Close the curtains, cut the lights Match the darkness in my mind It's gonna take me down It's gonna take me down [Pre-Chorus] All the roads I've been before Same mistakes always got me shakin' And all the signs I once ignored In my denial, I didn't want to face them [Chorus] I can see clearly now The rain has gone I accept all the things that I cannot change Gone are the dark clouds The dawn has come It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day [Verse 2] There's a world outside my door I forced my feet down to the floor I'm gonna make it out I'm gonna make it out Take a breath and say a prayer Find the strength in my despair It's not gonna take me down It's not gonna take me down [Pre-Chorus] All the roads I've been before Same mistakes always got me shakin' And all the signs I once ignored In my denial, I didn't want to face them [Chorus] I can see clearly now The rain has gone I accept all the things that I cannot change Gone are the dark clouds The dawn has come It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day [Bridge] All the pain in my sorrow Won't change today, only ruin tomorrow All the pain in my sorrow Won't change today, only ruin tomorrow [Chorus] I can see clearly now The rain has gone I accept all the things that I cannot change Gone are the dark clouds The dawn has come It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day

"I accept all the things I can not change" This lyrics hit me so hard! I lived a life full of "I wish I could change this and that, I wish I could do this and that" but I am learning now to see the world in a different way and know that some things don't happen the way you expect it to and be grateful of what I have. It is a process but I am learning and trying to get use to it, frustrations gets lesser and lessr now. I am happier.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” Psalms 18:28 “You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” .... There's something wrong with society and the world when we allow certain artists and musicians to crowd the spotlight and top the charts when there's real performers and artists that NEED to be known more, simply because they deserve it and bring real art to the world. Case and point.

Howie Mandel was/is right. Grace is the biggest talent to ever come out of AGT. But, Howie and AGT didn't discover Grace. Grace was making great music before AGT, and as talented as she was and is, she would have eventually made it into the world stage on her own. I will give credit to Howie for pressing the golden buzzer and "fast-forwarding" her to her eventual and well-deserved win, and I will also give credit to AGT for presenting her to us, because, without AGT we would have had to wait a while longer before Grace made it into our lives. The biggest kudos belong to her parents for allowing her to discover and develop her talent(S); yes, capital S to emphasize the fact that, she is a naturally talented young girl that can apparently entertain us in many different ways.

Ernesto Estrada I read your comment a few times but I think the double negative statement is throwing me off. If you meant younger kids/teens ARE capable of “adult” emotions I totally agree with you. I don’t know how you took my statement as saying otherwise. Grace as an artist and writer has an old soul and it’s commendable. That’s all I’m trying to convey. Been a fan since her AGT audition.

Yup. Watched her audition on someone's fb post (sorry I can't remember whose anymore, but THANK YOU for turning me in her direction!) and first thing, before she even started playing, and I was hooked. AWESOME audition, like THIS IS HOW YOU AUDITION!!! Found her KZfaq channel afterward and was happy but not satisfied. Waited and waited and FINALLY the AGT Live Shows came around on KZfaq (seemed like FOREVER of a wait), and she just kept adding to her awesomeness with every performance. Even when her voice went almost completely out, she was so great! I was SO NERVOUS right along with her for the finals! I put ALL my votes on her. Never voted for anybody on any of the Talent Shows before, so for me, this was HUGE. LOTS of performers deserved to win in 2016, but that was Grace's year (too bad for those other acts that they were on the show at the same time she was, but some of them have done fairly well afterward).

I am bipolar and have been struggling with my depression. Ive been thinking a lot lately, “what if I was gone?. “ Like you in the beginning of the video…I have been staying inside, shades down, lights off…. I just lay in bed. Today I coincidentally saw this video and listened to this song. I wept and felt hope for the first time in a long time. Thank you! Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with me at the most crucial time in my life. You changed someone’s perspective today on life and offered some hope, which was desperately needed. 💞🌈

Grace would be so proud to know that she helped lift someone spirits and was able to touch them emotionally in some way. Keep fighting the fight. Bipolar disorder and depression are treatable, and help is available. Things can and will get better, but you may have to work hard for it. It will be worth it!

My favourite thing about Grace is that all her songs are always age appropriate and they come across as so raw and beautiful. It's amazing to finally have a young lady in the industry who isn't thrown on stage and sexualized, she's a perfect role model for girls everywhere! I hope other women follow her and focus more on there skills as a person and less on how they look.

Grace has NO LIMITS!! She has taken an important classic from another era - a song that meant so much to so many - and made it even better, even more meaningful. And by injecting such powerful heart felt emotion - as Grace does like no one ever has - she has actually made it even more "important" by strengthening the songs' uplifting message. And that V O I C E and those chilling high notes.......this song, this remarkable video totally grabs me........."Clearly"!!

Dear Coolbreeze Productions, I had to respond to your comment. I'm not a very religious person either, in fact, all my life I've been rather cold and jaded. Not mean to people but just indifferent to them. Just watching the news and seeing the world get shitter and shitter over the last 40 years is enough for a person to lose all hope for mankind. That's where I was a few years ago when just by chance I watched this little girl walk onto a stage with a ukulele, on a tv show I've never watched in my life. Week after week I watched and I found myself smiling and my heart starting to feel hope again. I told myself " this little girl is going to change the world" and you know what? She changed me. You are right This is different somehow

This song has been free therapy that has helped the anxiety, uncertainty and depression I have always struggled with…I play a song on repeat every vacation I go on so that when I hear it, I am automatically transported back to that place. But this song is totally different…has far more meaning than any other “vacation” song. It came at the perfect moment…exactly when I needed it. I still use it to this day.

Grace has a better understanding of what's important in life than most her age, and many adults. She often writes and sings about serious topics in a way that focuses the listeners attention on the meaning, the emotion and the melody, and we forget how young she is. If her age is any barrier to people embracing her music and accepting her musical genius, then it's their loss. Grace's vision of what music can be is exactly what's missing from "popular music" today, and her musical journey is already inspiring millions. If we can all support and encourage her, and she continues on this journey, music and the world will be the better for it. I can see many more "bright sun shinny days" in Grace's future. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Trevor Ravencroft It's a mental thing I meant as a general concept. Using past history of the stuff the typical teen pop tarts have produced when young (Think Mandy Moore way back when), Grace addressing topics such as bullying and mental health in her music are obviously a departure from the vapid mainstream teen boyfriend angst rubbish. Don't take every comment so literally. Remember there still are more people who don't know Grace and her music than who do, and the first thing they're going to key on is her age, and set expectations accordingly - at least until they know better. New listeners wouldn't be nearly as awed by her if she were doing typical, instantly forgettable music. The fact she manages to blow away even her long time fans who do know what kind of music she's capable of makes it pretty clear she's exceeding even their expectations.
