What does one do after releasing a top-10 debut EP and touring the world playing massive shows? If you’re Grace Vanderwaal, you start your freshman year of high school. Although the 15-year-old sensation insists that she loves touring and songwriting, her exploding music career meant spending a “strange” amount of time with adults; Without enough friends her age, the New York native saw highschool as a way of normalizing. ‘I’ve gotten back in touch with myself,” she told Vanity Fair earlier this year. “It was almost to a point where... I was like, Is this me?” These are wise words from the youngest person ever to appear on Forbes 30 Under 30 Music list. Such maturity is manifest in her new EP, LOVE LETTERS: Vol. 1. Vanderwaal is set to star in the upcoming Stargirl film, recently signed to IMG’s modeling roster and has an encyclopedic knowledge of New Girl - and somewhere in between all that, she found time to write her most sophisticated music yet. How this girl is not getting any air time on the radio is beyond me. Grace is so talented and extremely underrated! She puts her heart, soul and emotions into her singing. You feel as if you are on this journey with her when she is performing. I've heard Grace is not all about radio air play but she would definitely blow some artist away with her Talent.

Grace said her label has not pushed her onto mainstream radio yet because she wants to enjoy her childhood she says it's a slow build. She has a 5 year plan which started after agt I assume.

Grace is realistic, she told a DJ to play her music but she knows if her songs got on the radio she wouldn't be dethroning anyone but she would be gaining a lot more fans. Let's be realistic if Grace gets on the radio she won't be getting people to drop Drake, Cardi or Taylor and just follow her, her time will come

I'm almost 40, end of this month, and this beautiful young woman is the only artist to bring me to tears, like every time I listen to her for no more of a reason than I am so happy for her! I mean, I lied, also because her songs are so moving, and that voice! I'm drawn back to this amazing performance and to "The City" every day. I've never seen or heard a performance delivered with such true heartfelt passionate emotion and feeling. Grace you move me in a way I haven't felt since we were blessed by the legends of the 60's and 70's literally pouring their soul into their performances... made it real for us! It's funny too me, autotune gets confused when they try to use it on her, it doesn't know what to do, it feels like it has no purpose when used on her, it just listens, "oh, wait, was that a bad note? No, no, that was perfect, ok, well call me when Brittany Spears is singing, at least she keeps me employed." Truth!

I’ve seen Grace perform live now five times in both very small venues and in actual stadiums. While it is an absolute blast to witness her live, unfortunately those larger venues mask the nuances of her magical voice. All the quirkinesses that makes her so special get lost. Performances like this allow you to hear all of them in their awesome display. There are millions of singers out there with “strong” “well-trained” voices who are truly naturally talented and also experienced and professional , but a voice like Grace VanderWaal’s is at a whole new level. It cannot be learned or trained into, this is a gift that she’s born with. Fortunately she has been working to improve her vocal skills the the underlying inborn talent that makes her vocals so special is what separates her from the millions of really good singers out there.

A critical part of "Letters Vol 1", a unique moment in music history. Grace has already left this era behind her. This music is to be deeply cherished. This is all there is of this era of the most important artist in music history. The songs of "Letters Vol 1" will be studied in music history classes for as long as such classes exist.

Nobody... NOBODY in music today can feel the nuances of their creations and project to the listener what they are feeling anywhere close to the way Grace does.. so naturally, so powerfully! She really does make listening to her, especially when focusing on her passionate facial expressions, quite a personal experience... and very moving!

She may seem like she's been put in a box, but she's also sitting outside of a box which is more true of her. Outside of the box is an understatement in fact. A true artist has never been truer to her art than this incredible songwriter.

Well said, and so true, She is not normal and she is going to make some noise, nd her label will not be able to hold her back, down, or in...she will explode and she will leave in her stardust, all the singers who are no doubt keeping their eyes open for the day she hit's the gate and runs for the top of the charts, but here's the catch with Grace. she will be the tortoise in the metaphor, and she will win the race...because her music will speak for her as opposed to trying to write for the mainstream gig, it will just happen, which will get her to the top in no time...Thank you for commenting...

The day she won till now, she didn't change of how humble she is and how greatful of her having this oppurtunity although she is getting more more matured and beautiful it doesn't matter she just want the world to listen to her music and disconnect for a seconds.
