Thanks for talking on the tutorial. Most of the other ones think this is still the 1930's and think a silent movie is the way to do it. They also don't even have words across the screen. Nice video.

I got an idea right off the bat... You could find an oil painting you like that has some more visible brushstrokes and you could use your clone stamp tool to add a few patches of brush-stroke visibility to give it a slightly more painterly feel. Just a few of those brush-ridges could go a long way toward making it feel more like a painting. Perhaps blurring, or smudging the hair a bit too. Too many tiny strands seems a little bit more like a photograph.

It's a drawing by Israeli digital artist Irakli Nadar that he's beggining with. It's already a painting. Can you make another video with an actual picture?

Can you please do a landscape with maybe some trees so we can see how you handle that differently. Also I am using a high Sierra Mac which as I understand is the last that can run cs6. I am retired and plan to buy a copy of cs6 because I cannot afford to pay rent on CC. Will your technique work on cs6? Otherwise I will continue to use GIMP and try to find similar tools. Thanks

You can find the reference image on the original painting. Comparing the two, you can see the person in the video used the painting, not the photograph as the original image.

The problem with this is that no one paints like this, so it looks like a digital effect trying to look like a painting. I think that you should spend about 20 years making paintings then come back and try this. That's why when you use your tools you'll use a painterly approach to it or better yet you'll be able to make an actual digital painting. This technique will never match experience.

Eli Cash I'm a concept artist that's traditionally trained and also an expert in digital media. Please explain how I'm redundant working in film, television, and video games? Would you like to compare portfolios my little bitchtaco? You've never make something with your own hands have you? That's the only reason you'd write that bullshit. There's no, "make art" button.
@maxxsteele9396

Eli Cash I have a portfolio bitch www.coroflot.com/mematron Look at that then tell me all about my inferiority complex, lol you silly virgin. Really, me giving you a link to just some of my work makes this shit look like the work of a child. Compared to me it is, but that's another matter.
@maxxsteele9396
@maxxsteele9396 6 жыл бұрын
Eli Cash what you wrote is proof that you never looked at my work. There's no results to look at. It's pure artwork. I don't have to pretend to paint because I'm an illustrator that's been working for a LOT longer than 20 years. Where the hell did you get 20 years from? I'm certain you're more comfortable writing your own narrative than using things like logic, good sense, and the truth. That's fine with me. Just remember, there's no "MAKE ART" button When you're ready to take the RED PILL, do a Google image search of my other moniker, mematron. Your punkass will see that it's all connected to the first link. Follow the black rabbit! Or you can keep believing that I don't design the world you take for granted - thanks for the house by the way :)

Eli Cash Link to an example of my shitty work. After all, I did drop my docs. You should find it easy to put my "abysmal work" on blast and shut me down right? This guy isn't a painter. Not that he implied that he is at any point. My point is, that knowing how to paint will real paint will make faking it on a computer more convincing. Any painter would say that it doesn't look like it's painted. It looks like it's trying to look like it was painted. Of course, I'm insecure. That comes with being a real artist, but I also know that my work kicks serious ass. My shortcomings are based on my own expectations, not anyone else's. Especially, someone like you that I don't know and have no emotional attachment to. None the less, I have to do it for me. My early teachers were fine artists, so first I try to my art. The money just comes with the territory. People see dollar signs when they look at me but I'm always trying to make art even when I'm programming - but you already knew I'm a programmer too. That's not boasting, that's confidence in my abilities because I strive to explore creativity in all it's forms. At some point, every artist has to ask, what they think of their own work. My work is based on real science. The shit was good enough for Star Trek. But you know that right? You followed the rabbit hole, right? I know that you didn't look at my work since, again, you'd have to apologize or feel the need to. You're actually afraid to look the truth in the face. Now that's funny :)
