Oilpressure varies from about 15 psi on idle 500 rpm, 30 psi at 1000 rpm and 50 psi on 2000 rpm. Melling high volume pump installed, ATF deleted, new bearings etc.

My oil pressure in my 2010 ss is at 52 psi cold and around 31 hot at idle and under load while driving is 50 to 55 and at wot is like 62 psi, it’s new to me because it used to be lower before my tune

I have about same; 55 psi cold engine and 25 psi hot at idle 800 rpm. Restored, tuned up and Stage 1 kit on my L99-engine Camaro 2012 SS.

@@johnnyaberg9617 is yours at 50 something while driving as well even when worm at 2 to 3k rpm I see 52 psi under load at normal. I got a pretty big cam in mine I don’t think that makes a difference tho for oil pressure

My car hot at idle sits between 15-20 psi is that about normal? I did have the sensor replaced not too long ago, l99 motor btw

@@Kevin__.5 Hi Kevin! I got about 30 psi hot at idle. I guess that's quite normal and also why GM have put 30 in top of the console. Generally, an acceptable oil pressure for many V8 engines with a warm engine can be in the range of 20 to 60 psi at idle. According to GM's service manual, the minimum acceptable oil pressure for a warm engine is that low as 6 psi at 1000 rpm, 18 psi at 2000 rpm, and 24 psi at 4000 rpm. Perhaps a oil change/filter and change of oil brand can get the pressure up a bit.

Not sure about your question. I bought the car with low oil pressure and the milage was 140 000 km. Restored engine and have now driven the car about 10 000 km. Is 30 psi on idle with hot engine and 70 psi with cold engine.

Yes, after restoration about 550 rpm idle mine was 20 after now idle is set på 900 rpm and is 30.

At 550 on idle 20 psi will de Ok. I have tuned my modified engine to 900 psi and have 30 psi and 50'-70 with cold engine.

It has been reported that there are several issues with the L99, including cam bearings that slip out of place, leading to reduced oil pressure. Additionally, the seal on the oil pump neck can crack, causing low oil pressure. Specific AFM (Active Fuel Management) problems have been noted, where the special lifters sometimes stick and lose their functionality. Low oil pressure due to leakage at the numerous seals, including the AFM system, is also common. Generally, an acceptable oil pressure for many V8 engines at warm idle can range from 20 to 60 psi. According to GM's service manual, the minimum acceptable oil pressure at a warm engine is 6 psi at 1000 rpm, 18 psi at 2000 rpm, and 24 psi at 4000 rpm.

I deleted dod and put tsp 2.2 cam and didn't change oil pump or pick up tube o-ring and I'm not sure if that's what's making me have low oil pressure but it stays around 20psi at all times. It's high miles but the heads and everything we're done to match the cam. It runs great and I am not even sure it's actually low pressure

Not quite easy to tell since I live in Sweden and had to import all parts from US (= extra tax and toll and payment in poor rate for our Swedish pesetas made cost much higher than if you buy in US). I also have a friend at a mechanic shop that made all mechanic work for free. I bought my parts from Autoshop in Florida autoshopracingengines.com/ that worked with Summit racing. At the rebult I choosed Stage 1 for L99 to get some extra horses (+500 hp and 900 in torque), I also removed AFM and some extra stuff. If you only want to repair lifters all work can be done with out removing engine. I suggest to remove AFM.

I had to restore my engine. Problem was leakings in the AFM-system, two bad AFM-lifters, poor oil presure pump. I removed AFM-system, added Mellings high oil presure etc. Also replaced all other worn parts (bearings, camshaft etc).there is kits on market tha replace AFM-system. Also added Comp cams stage 1.

Before engine rebuilt oil pressure droped down to close to no pressure at all with hot engine. Removed ATF to get better pressure.

The rpm at idle was a bit low then I made this video. I did change the idle låter to about 800-900 rpm and on cold engine it's now a bit well over 30 and at hot engine around 30.
