What is the openVAULT you ask? It's quite simple. Music that for lack of a better analogy, has been locked away from the general public. What has happened to the musical landscape is sickening. Far too many artists go largely unnoticed. We are here to change that. To drive the point home, this will not be some "best of" list aka Rolling Stone. Fancy seeing you here, old friend! I’m having an Oingo Boingo era right now and am gobbling up their songs like potato chips. My favorite album is definitely Nothing to Fear, but I dig the majority of their catalogue in general (“Change” deserves more love).

It was written about communism ostensibly but it fits woke capitalism equally well. Woke capitalism recommends stuff to you with KZfaq ads based on a machine learning driven recommender system that uses your personal data.

This reminds me of "We", a 1924 Russian novel that inspired George Orwell's "1984". In it, the protagonist, D-503, lives in a heavily regulated dystopia obsessed with scheduling. At the end of the book, all citizens are forced to undergo the "Great Operation", which makes everyone emotionless and blindly loyal to the state.

I deleted my comment as I felt I could've made a better analogy comparing the song to what just happened. Befor the Republican lead FCC killed Net Neutrality, you could and still can choose whichever ISP you want, depending on your area. I have at least 3 I can still choose from. What sucks is we're now living under a government that chooses corporations over citizens. Your ISP can now over charge you. Cap your bandwidth. All sorts of things. You can't do much about it. Every ISP can now be as evil as they want. Oh, and the Trump administration just blocked the CDC from using 7 words/phrases. So, that's like communism right there.

First album I ever bought. The cover totally reminds me of riding my bike to Big Ben's Records across from the Lakewood Mall, hustling home and putting it on the turn table. Great stuff!

Danny joined them for a bit of a reunion some time ago. but he was loosing his hearing which is why they stopped.. I doubt he'll come out of retirement again .. I'm just happy he found a way to still share his genius misical talent.

This song sounds close to Midnight Oil's "Stand In Line" Which was released in Australia on their "Head Injuries" Album in 1979. I'm not saying Oingo Boingo took hints from Midnight Oil, Perhaps it's just a case of people having similar ideas at the same time.
