Part 12: • OJ Da Juiceman on Twit...
Part 10: • OJ Da Juiceman on Figh...
Part 1: • OJ da Juiceman: I Star...
--------
In this clip, OJ Da Juiceman told Shawn Prez that there was no way he would have stayed signed to Deb Antney's label, as he claims millions were taken from him. OJ went on to say the only way that he would've stayed is if he was paid the money owed, and he went on to address Waka Flocka commenting on the situation. To hear more, including OJ saying he'd ride for his mother like Waka did, hit the above clip.

This is true and her defense will be "well Deb only did what other people in her position within the record industry do all the time" (either that or just flat out denial)!! This is because unfortunately, the record industry is wicked and lacks remorse to the point where this kind of thing is considered "common practice". The whole problem with these types of activities being considered "common practice", and using that as reasoning for why someone gets jerked, is definitely some bullshit in my opinion. These activities have been going on time and time again so what should we expect!???? We are all hip to this now tho, so now they are getting called out on this "common practice" by fans and aspiring artist alike.

This is why I stayed away from trying to pursue the music industry. Unless you are plugged in with the right people you are food. I'm cynical so I would have made different choices but I've read contracts and you really need a lawyer to understand wtf you are reading and those lawyers will snake you too unless you have the right one. How do you know who is right or wrong though when you are coming in blind though? You don't.

The reason you didn't pursue the music industry is because you don't have the balls or the vision for it. In this day and age you don't need anyone. One of the main reasons I decided to REALLY turn my life around while I was in prison (it was this & my promise to my Granny to change while she was on her deathbed) had nothing to do with real life, it had to do with something I read in a book in CRC that stuck with me & it was the reason I read so many business/finance books. This one hacker hit a lick for like $50 Million & got caught. Someone who knew him described me as a kid too while describing the hacker “he was always one of the brightest kids at school, it came easy to him & he never had to study. Just naturally Very smart but also naturally just chose to be bad & get into trouble, and skip a lot of school. It’s a shame he settled for such a little amount of money” & since obviously 50 Ms is a lot of $, they were asked wtf they meant a little amount of money. They said “he’s so smart, If he would’ve went the legit route as a businessman he’d be a fucking billionaire right now” That makes me think of Miss Deb too. She could’ve been, was on her way to being, a fucking juggernaut in hip hop & the music industry. But she chose to fleece her artists & skim a few million off of them here & there, so instead of being one of the most powerful people man OR woman in hip hop & worth $100M+ right now, she’s had to do reality tv for a check & her reputation as an exec is forever ruined, fuck just “tarnished”

I wish her da best if she regrets it & isnt like that anymore. i DO let people change, unlike most folks who only pay lip service to it. And so that ^ comment + this next statement aren’t clowning her, its just real: its gotta be hell to wake up every day knowing the potential future you fumbled

Waka was a child star. Let’s be for real. Everything that Waka received could have gone to French, Nicky, Gucci, Juice, or other. But once they all left Deb had no one . So here’s Waka. He tall, he loud, he saw what Gucci and Juice did so just ran with it. Right out the gate. No struggle no prerequisite no nothing. Given the keys 🔑 to the engine. So stfu 🤬 waka

I understand waka did his thing and had his solo shit, but it’s Gucci and OJ that made it hot to start with, smack dvd, make the trap aye, then waka comes along, sounded like how a bulldog would talk with the rarara. Yeah they all made classics together, though we all seen waka just standin in the posse in the early days. If. They weren’t funny with OJ and Gucci’s money, the three of them and some of the affiliates would have continued to be the south trap gunit of sorts, they have staying power. They can do well solo but it would have been bricksquad music festivals where one festival could bring in more money than that whole got damn contract dispute and they all could’ve made more money, waka too just from his adlibs(and I know waka has gone and got good money from festivals, though really 1017/32 ent/affiliated artists could’ve all combined to rock every stage an entire multi stage festival, though probably would have to organize it themselves being independent, the music labels too busy puttin on mafackas in dresses). I’ve been got before, and almost every time I’ve been got, its people who’d made more money with me in the long run but want to pull a fast one. It’s like cool, but people from the streets(I’m not from the streets though know the streets pretty well considering where I come from) know the value of trust goes a long way. And aside from the money, and slightly related to the money, doing it for the fans and giving the people what they want is the best for entertainment and how to get to them money. There’s no damn way to replicate the stranglehold bricksquad had on the mixtape scene, no fuckin way. G-unit had there run, closest thing, lil wayne and gucci as far as solo artists contend just on solo mixtapes. Some artists like gotti and juicy j have had good runs, started off slow. And not saying other artists haven’t and arnt putting out good mixtapes now, but as a group, the original bricksquad mixtape era can’t be replicated, there’s wayyyyy to many rappers out there now. That’s why it’s like what a fuckin waste, there’s thousands of trap artists out there now, though only a handful that really started the modern trap shit which is why they got more leverage even still just because they pretty much planted the seed first(and big thanks to gucci, who must have been living in the damn studio half his damn life with the amount of tapes he put out). Don’t get me wrong, the new 1017 got fire artists too, Gucci is smart for recognizing that putting together a group of artists is how to control the game. Though shit so much new 1017 artists locked up, Pooh Shiesty really one of the most talented of them too(and I’m sure what went down had reasons, but damn it why it had to be about weed, the new money in the industry is gonna come free legal industry and no damn dispensary in the country gonna like a shooting over a weed sale). Imo what OJ should do from here, is put out some solo music, but then recruit some young talent on 32 ENT, there’s a zillion rappers nowadays, probably a lotta producer competition too, many would be happy to work with oj, find a handful of hard hungry artists with unique styles(doesn’t even matter if they got views if the music good, people fake that all the time now), put out some mixtapes and set the streets on fire again. Gotta be organized and strategic. And I know, I get the culture OJ represents, all about his home town, though really, for oj to level up some more, if he wants to take his shit next level, do some random ass shows overseas, don’t gotta be stadiums or some shit, some random places in Eastern Europe or Asia or Africa, I swear it gets the socials going crazy. I’m not a rapper, I’m in the crypto space, when I was shining I was traveling, Jamaica, Mexico, China three times, Netherlands twice, 2022 planning on Greek islands and shit. Go where other people aint and do what other people arent, really the way to stand out nowadays. Yeah OJ is Texaco shorty always will be, that’s him, though that’s relatable in a way internationally, gotta take advantage of that shit.
