This is a very powerful song and can be used to frighten away evil.Bad spirits flee when the bear spirit is called upon. In this video I see makwa on the back of the drummers head, under the chairs I see shadows moving that I believe to be the spirit of the bear .The spirits are in the background at the top left and on the piece of firewood I believe that object to be, it's to the left of the drummers on the ground a rectangular shaped object.I giving thanks to these women for the effort they put into this video and I thank them for having such a powerful belief in what they are singing that makwa was actually with them when they called upon him with this song.In this video I see true spiritual power at work. Awesome!!! 🐻

I'm very thankful that my Ojibwa adult offspring have had an opportunity to expand their awareness of the world, have benefited from the wisdom of more than one culture, and today reap many of the benefits afforded to people of modern society. I am thankful that they can expand their command of language and learn the beautiful Ojibwa tongue. However, their mastery of English was vital. I'm very thankful that they inherited their Christianity and have a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. In the 1800 until relatively recent the life expectancy of an Ojibwa was the ages they are now. Early 40s is young. I'm grateful and glad their life expectancy has doubled.

Our past is our roots. What happens to a flower when it is cut from its roots? That will be our future if we forget the past. My grandfathers and grandmothers walked the trial of tears, shall I not remember them and shed a tear? My ancestor Dragging Canoe was the most fearsome Indian enemy to the just forming Americans, shall I forget that I too can walk proud and resist the white mans oppression? Todays enemy is not the white man but the bankers and companies who enslave countries and white man. This is our today. Our future is in our hands. Forget or remember, the choice is yours.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head! "Learn from the past, prepare for the future BUT focus on today. Because the past is just a memory, the future is an illusion...all we have is the present." Wish more people would thin like you hshingebis! ; )
