You can see Andy's heart just *_dying_* at 13:31 when he sees the paint get on the camera. And Dan's trying to be optimistic but Andy's just "There's nothing we can do about that at the end, is there." I don't know what to say...Andy deserves some true respect right there for going through for the last flight.

Yes, as a baseline, performing at a professional level night after night, show after show can be taxing and exhausting. I'm just saying that Andy signed up to be in a band, not an astronaut (the closest equivalent experience). He obviously hated the plane rides and was very happy it was "over" only to find out they had to go again. That would be terribly frustrating. But, for the good of the video and his band mates, he sucked it up and pushed on. That's going above and beyond the call of Rock 'n Roll. :)

Props to Andy cause I can totally imagine getting hella sick of that. Going once would be like "wow!" but after weeks of doing it and thinking it's over... then having to do one more? Just dang. Seriously. Good work was awesome.

Andy's a fucking trooper. I don't know if I could get back into that plane after that much sickness and vomiting. Hopefully he thought it was worth it after the fact!

No one in the band vomited - they were on heavy duty anti-nausea meds. But those meds can leave you feeling like crap in other ways, like a general thick-headed blah feeling, for example.

@@vs71597 I think the other part is that the luggage was in the way and he wasn't going to make his seat before the right beat, and before the parabola ended. He was thinking he'd ruin it and they'd have to go again. You can see eight after he sits down he breaths a huge sigh.

@@maisiesummers42 unny enough it was his fault the luggage landed in his seat in the first place. watch him closely the last 5 seconds before he makes it in the seat, he throws the luggage while in the left rows of seats before moving to his seat in the front right. Im sure he was frantic at that point ha poor fella

Andy has my immense respect for doing that final flight. He agreed because he knew it needed to be done to make the rest of it completely worth it. That was an amazing video, so well done!

When I first watched the music video, I noticed at the end that Andy didn't smile AT ALL. He looked so frustrated and tired and he threw the baggage out of the way. Now I realized that he really didn't want to do it any more but he had no choice. It was all worth it tho! BREATHTAKING VIDEO!

This is why Andy is my favorite in the band. If you watch, he's usually the one that almost messes it up but he's a beast for going back up when he doesn't want to for the sake of the band.

​@@andTutin yeah everyone keeps saying "zero-gravity" but it's not. Gravity is present just like on land but the plane accelerates into FREEFALL. It's like being in zero gravity but you're actually falling at full gravitational acceleration.

Loved this, trying to explain to my kids about how the cosmonaut training plane works, the low gravity and parabolas etc, and this made it so easy. If anyone involved reads this, thank you so much for showing how exciting physics and art, and working towards a difficult goal can be. My kids have really loved it and hopefully learned a bit about science, art and hard work too.

Now I understand that moment at the end with Andy being so frustrated with the suitcase. He was so determined as well as fearful that they wouldn't get the shot and would have to go up again. If I were him, I would be horrified.

I know this music video came out a while ago but I’m seriously obsessed with it now. It’s been the first time I was able to express this kind of process and how it was physically possible back to my mother (after showing the video to her) without getting my brain turned inside out (heee heeee) in the attempt. I realize why teachers are using your videos in physics class. They make it look genuinely interesting and amazing and also really simple and touchable. I’m really amazed by every project you’ve been making real since Here It Goes Again, and since I’m against a creative roadblock, your videos are healing. Thank you.

I feel sorry for the plane! The fatigue on the body and wings must be incredible! Great Russian engineering! So how did they clean all the paint up inside the plane? So nice to see the hugs at the end despite the language barriers... I love it when we can all transcend the cultural barriers and have a hug... should be more of it. Wish the politicians could understand that.

There is no significant stress on the plane. All jet aircraft are designed within a boundary of expected loads, and these parabolic curves are well within them. The plane is not fighting forces, it's flying with them.

A plane is designed to withstand something like this. Recently the Airbus A300 Zero G was retired and is now preserved as Cologne Bonn Airport. At it's place is now an A310.

Love you guys! Not only is the music great, but the videos are classic art! I was in the Air Force and did what we call the Vomit Comet maneuvers like you did in zero G. It was awesome and some of the best times I remember, except for the sudden G rush at the bottom of the parabola. Sometimes two or three G onsets. I give the Russian pilots credit for what appeared to be a smooth maneuver set. If you have a chance to do this, take it. It is a once in a life time opportunity! PS...even during the cold war, I thought the Russian people to be awesome and still do. I hope to visit there some day.

I visited Russia while in the USCG (yep, really) and they treated our crew amazingly well. Well, except the crew of the Vorovsky kicked our ass at a game of soccer 😂

This is so COOL to be able to see a “Behind the Scenes” look at how this video was created. I first saw this video when it first came out & had aired on FUSE Rock Music Television. It’s beautiful to see how they went for Cosmonaut training in Russia so that way they could be able to fly as high as they did. (I only ever noticed the small notification that they give before the video which says “What you are about to see is Real”

Thank you so much for this video. The original music video is just so amazing, but all through it I couldn't help wondering how it was done, knowing you only get about 20 seconds of zero gravity time per dive. I'm still amazed that they executed that many parabolas one after the other. It must have been really expensive and very nauseating. But now I know how it's done, I can go back and watch the video again and enjoy the sheer spectacle.
