Thank you so much for sharing your take of Okinawa. I have a project given to me via Rakuten Travel and Okinawa Tourism Bureau to create a guide and so watching creative content like yours gives me an understanding of what people would usually do and inspires me to target things from a different angle. I am glad to see content creators get around and still flourish despite the circumstances that be, albeit, done safely! Keep doing you!

I saw something like the Daiko in China, however the guy showed up on an e-bike and folded it up and put it into the trunk of our car. When we got home he took the bike out and rode away. It's the most amazing service and I love it! I wish we had in US cities.

Glad you had a good time in Okinawa! About the shisa, they are almost always set up in pairs near an entrance with one with its mouth open and the other with its mouth closed. The one with the mouth open is to welcome in good spirits while the one with the mouth closed is to ward off the evil spirits. Oh, and Blue Seal does actually have more than ice cream! The smaller shops are just ice cream, but the larger ones have all kinds of food including burgers and even spaghetti! I have to say though, the burgers aren't anything to write home about, but still cool that they serve it.

Thank you for your accurate representation of Okinawa. I have lived here for 30 years and you nailed it. Only one mistake American village was ocean before 2000 it was not a military base. If you ever travel here again hit me up and I’ll take you to the Kerama islands. Honto ni Uchinanchu dayo!

I was stationed @ Kadena AFB some years ago, WOW, really miss the Chubu and Ginowan areas, you should of checked out some of the old castle ruins around there; really miss that place, the beach and skimboarding along the beach.

Hi Paolo, fun video. The "San Francisco" part of the mint chip ice cream is because Blue Seal is an American company that came to Okinawa in 1948. Some of the blue seal restaurants to provide food, they also give a free scoop of ice cream two days out of each month!! You looked so tired at the beginning of the video, I felt bad for all of your delays! next time you come down, let me know and we can treasure hunt together! cricket

🐍🍶 The snake(Habu) is local to Okinawa. It's dunked in sake and infused with its venom at times, called Habu-Sake. Killer drink 😁 Great video!

Still here and have been here since 2017! Wished we could had met you guys. We’re always at Zanpa beach and around the light house and we live near by there! Did you guys get a chance to check out Cape Maeda? Awesome snorkeling and scuba diving place in the island. We have 3 months left before we leave Okinawa, we’ll miss this place so much, it’s home for us. One day we’re getting a beach front home here, one day haha. Thank you for this video Paolo!

I'm thinking of going to Okinawa on my way over for my year abroad in Nagoya. I can probably spend about a week or two exploring before going to the mainland. Do you think it's better to stay on Okinawa Honto or go to a couple of them? I can't drive so I'll have to rely on buses D:

Agree, rent a car is a must, otherwise you can't see all the beaches on the coast, if you snorkel you will not be dissapointed

To be honest, I don't really know what happened. I took off, it was hovering in front of me, then all of a sudden it started drifting left. I was next to a building and it hit the wall. Fell and broke the camera gimbal.

fixable, but will cost $300 to fix. Better than buying a whole new drone I suppose (I was actually pretty close to buying a new drone in Okinawa, just to get the drone shots for the video but called around to all the store and they were all out of stock)
