She is a record Olympian! Oksana Chusovitina is the only female gymnast ever to compete in EIGHT Olympic Games, and is one of only two female gymnasts to compete at the Olympics under three different national teams: the Unified Team in 1992; Uzbekistan in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2016 and 2020; and Germany in 2008 and 2012. She’s phenomenal! Crazy to think that this is 32 years of training and elite level competition ALONE… And she won a silver medal at her fourth Olympics, in Beijing… It was 16 years between her gold and silver medal, she’s been to 16 world championships Has nine world titles on vault which is the record… Truly phenomenal 🤩

I think she is an exception......with tendon ligaments motor skills that were near perfect for the sport that's why she managed to carry on ...most gymnasts retire professionally when they are 25 at the most

Yes but at what cost !!!! All athletes only practice their chosen sporting path...the rest of human occupations, including developing one' s own interests.... or indeed existing for themselves are obliterated.... they are objectified by whatever regime they have happened to be born under....this being said, they have tremendous qualities that we could learn from...

Not all champion has a podium finish. Beyond the luster of medals, Olympics values transcendence of the disciplined & passionate spirit wherever & whatever circumstance you came from. My full salute to the embodiment of a true Olympian spirit. A true inspiration.

She does have a podium finish tough, more than 1 actually. Gold in 1992 and Silver in 2008.

У меня челюсть отвисла когда узнал сколько раз она выступала на Олимпиадах! А когда увидел что она вытворяет в 47 лет вообще охренел...Человек-мотивация никак иначе! Реально огромнейшую работу человек делает чтобы не просто на Олимпиадах выступать, туда же ещё попасть надо!

She's an inspiration to adults who love doing gymnastics. Age is just a number! I'd also love to see Chelsie Memmel in the next Olympics, even if she only does vault and/or beam.
