Approach and landing on a nice day on runway 23 at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, Sardinia Island, Italy. OLB / LIEO. With ATC (air traffic control) audio and ATIS (automatic terminal information service) audio. Cockpit view Airbus A320. Produced in 4k
We approached Olbia airport from the northeast. ATC cleared us for an almost straight in ILS (instrument landing system) approach for runway 23. From the beginning of our descent, we were able to fly the complete approach economically with idle power. After extension of the landing gear and the flaps, we added power at about 1300 feet for a stabilized final approach and landing.
During our approach, we encountered a strong crosswind of about 25 knots (46 km/h). Olbia airport provides runway 23/05, which is 2445 meters (8025 feet) long. Several charter and scheduled airlines fly to Olbia. A good amount of traffic is only seasonal. Olbia is also a popular destination for general aviation airplanes. During peak times in summer, the general aviation ramp is packed with airplanes.

To land directly from the sea it had to be wind coming from the land...Mastrale...Well done! it had to be quite windy...

next time don't write atc on the title if you mute all the conversation.

Hi Filippo, thanks for your feedback! Due to privacy concerns, I usually mute our own callsign. So we are the flight without callsign. The rest of the communication with ATC is usually unchanged and in realtime. In rare cases, some ATC audio got lost due to technical issues. In the cockpit, we do not talk a lot during the approach because of the silent cockpit procedure. Below 10000 feet we are limited to just a few calls and the very short Ecam landing checklist. Hopefully soon I am able to include the airline and callsign. Then I will stop muting the callsign immediately.l
