The numbers on a runway refer to the direction the runway is facing. 35 means that runway faces to 350 degrees, or just West of due North. It could be anywhere that has an appropriately aligned runway, and is probably not a tropical map at all.

A winter map would be cool but I would honestly prefer a really dense rainforest map which you have to focus on cooling down rather than warming up, stopping players being able to sprint everywhere and forcing players to watch their water more but add more exotic fruits and monkeys or something

I think they need to make more useful improvised items in the game. Kind of like how they added the IED plastic case or the improvised cooking stand. Something like an improvised sewing kit, made with a rope and bone hook, takes up 6 slots, only can be used once and can be used on leather or cloth.

A craftable bow is a must. Trying to find the crossbow is tedious. I don't think we will have to wait until the fall for winter map. Next update I bet.

Cause it's fun. I have every gun in the game at my primary stash. Can use whatever I want. I still use crossbow for fun. Why run m4/dmr 24/7 that's not fun.

I'm not saying it's not Tanoa, but the number on runways represents the compass heading to land on that runway. 35 at one end, 17 at the other. Just because Tanoa has this, doesn't mean Tanoa is being reworked for a different setting. It's possible, but at that point it's aaaalmosy easier to make a new map.

I think is easier for the dev team to take an already existing map (from Arma) to edit it or modifique it than create a whole new map, and if their intention is bring new maps every year and still update the game regulary they would need a biger team or more time, using maps already exist solves the two problems, imho...

Hey, Tanoa has already been ported to Enfusion by Bohemia. There's an article of a Bohemia Engineer talking about porting it to enfusion, so it's not impossible.

@@Doomsday499 dayz uses the same map file types as arma 3, enfusion maps are completely different. You could port Tanoa into dayz right now without too much issue but you'd get in trouble

True, but why would they want to show us 35 if 35 is just random fluff. It makes a lot more sense for 35 to mean something, which is why I'm convinced it's Tanoa related.

It's worth noting that typically runways are numbered based on their compass bearing - the 35 simply means it's on a bearing of 350 degrees. Maybe it is a hint at Tanoa being the map, but equally it's very possible that on whatever new map they're planning the runway also just happens to run on the same bearing.

i mean there is alot of stuff that wouldnt be the case but still is in dayz. For instance new guns, freah canned goods, cars that have been sitting / gasoline that for sure has gone bad, wells that have not been maintained, the gas strikes that randomly go off, the endless amount of survivors washing up on shore, charged batteries, not to mention qr codes (while invented in the 90s ty Japan) were not in main stream use till the late 2000s. All of that takes a little forgiveness to make the game playable. Maybe the same people who are preventing the rescue / enacting the quarantine / doing some kind of experiment in chenarus / livonia are the ones maintaining the wells, airstrikes and airfields….

I've always been of the opinion that bicycles should be an item and be common, kind of the lowest tier vehicle, where you can find tires and chains for them and put them together. It would make travelling across the map seem allot less daunting and it would make the maps feel like less dead content and more alive because there are higher chances of seeing players in far away location and in trails and roads to said locations.

People always say bikes are a good idea till they get the "you are dead" screen for traveling down the middle of the road with no protection lol. Getting to Vybor faster is always a good thing but if you get sent back to the coast cause you were riding them then not only did you defeat the purpose of using the bike, you basically gave a free vehicle to whoever just killed you. I personally wish they would just let us pick where we spawn instead of making us kill ourselves over and over just for a new spawn location that would do more to cut down on travel time than anything.

We need wagons that you can pull on foot like the little red wagon and a gardening wagon or a wheel barrow so we can carry 100 slot items faster on foot since its hard to find a car sometimes.

I have been waiting for spray paint since it’s removal from the game after the Enfusion engine was implemented, it offers a uniqueness and customization akin to how you can have a multitude of different clothing items and gear and the same would be nice for the weapons, helmets, and ghillies(as you currently can’t change the the color).

I just watched Soviet Womble's DayZ video essays exploring how Bohemia Interactive chose to develop the standalone dayz in a way different than the most popular mods and populated communities, of the original dayZ mod. This ultimately lead gamers to rebuild their similar favorite mods and servers with mechanics missing in vanilla Dayz. I hope Bohemia listens more steadfastly to what the community wants including a winter map. I agree that the more content Bohemia releases that the community likes, the more gamers will convince their friends to play, increasing the player count of the game.

Some community suggestions contradict each orher and Bohemia cannot follow every suggestion, and they shouldnt try to. Games devs can try to overstretch and try to appeal to too many demographics and end up not appealing to anyone.

HEY DEVS, A SIMPLE GAME SUGGESTION! When you put your hands up, your inventory becomes open for people. The game should tell you this as you put your hands up. Buff handcuffs too :)! So they're actually more of a formidable roleplay tool. If needs balance, have opening hand-raised people's inventory take time. (action wheel) I think adding this will give a lot more reasons for roleplay and interaction instead of KOS.

Dont buff handcuffs i dont mess with anyone who uses them because in my experience 90% of people who cuff you do it for two reasons A) They need extra time looting you and dont care about roleplay but are nice enough to let you live if you survive. B) They just wanna tie you down and stand on your back while them and their buddies give you kuru and throw slurs and insults at you for how bad you are at losing a 6v1. I literally just log out when I wake up in handcuffs because its almost always a waste of time cause very rarely does someone handcuff me and let me walk away with my life. The only time i accept my fate is when its just one of my buddies messing with me.

Why chernarus? Its obvious theres going to be a dlc. There's a huge financial incentive to release more content, in the anniversary video they outright said thered be 'more than just free updates' coming. I would love to play DayZ on Stratis and Malden from Arma 3. Another great option would be Prypiat’s surroundings with Duga 2 and Tchernobyl’s complex (moded versions being a little odd imo). Good to see all the enthusiasm though! Keep up the great work and thanks for your content !💪🏻

Haven’t heard of vigor in awhile since it’s player base tanked with their cyborg update vengeance was a founder for the game but gave it up seeing its direction I hope they can recoup and maybe go in a line with arma reforger/dayz as they had added quite a bit of reforger goods as well.

@LaCoalicion. I used to play Vigor A LOT. It's definitely one of my favourite games of all time back when it was in it's prime. Sadly though, the devs have decided to go the greedy route and only release major things that can gain them money before their game dies out. Most of the biggest creators that gave their game the little fame that it has have all left because of this.

Hey Dev’s, thanks for making one of my favorite games. Here’s some suggestions my friends and I talk about all the time that we would love. Please add the Scar H, AN-94, spray paint, Season’s with seasonal storms for the original maps, LPVO scopes for M4/M16, optics rail for M16, also conversion rails for optics to interchange would be awesome. Be able to mount western optics on AK’s.

Also, i have tried to like Livonia and have put in around 1300 hours on it and I can definitely say I hate the map. Way too open with nothing going on once you travel a little south of the river. I just don't understand why the landscape is so barron and void of cities

Also my belief that the runway was just an asset used from Tanoa, it could just be a new location on one of the already maps or a new map entirely. If sumraks working on it, maybe something like Namalsk.

I'd say they're gonna introduce a seasons system to tie up the weather and temperature features. With snowy map starting from tier 3 towards the top north.

I might guess that after the success of Namalsk A3 update, Sumrak may have had his arm twisted to turn it into an official map for the A4 update ( as hinted on the floppy disk at Lantia hab) and that it might be relaunched with this new winter map as part of a winter expansion pack.

Namalsk also has an airfield which would be 35 (and 17), but the decal is at present blurry, and they have been redoing the airfields lately, so I'm leaning towards that rather than Tanoa, although either would be welcomed.

Tanoa was the testing grounds for Arma Reforger, it has deep ties to consoles already having been ran on a PS4 / other consoles for testing. (Direct info from Bohemia)

I want them to add more goals to the maps, and make some objective in behind if you want to do it for some rewards, maybe even some hordes, mini bosses in special locations etc. Just to expand on that survival/loot aspect of the game, that would make more people ask for help and use radio to find someone for task, pay or trade them one way or the other and make a bond or betray one another.

the hints could be towards actual seasons rather than just a dedicated winter map. the new weather system could handle that easy. three days per season would do nicely.

I just want an attachment that allows you to put different scopes on different guns, for example putting a western red dot on and ak, or a hunter scope on a lar, vsd, dmr.

I wouldn’t be surprised if even they drop a map a year. It could be Tonoa, hence the 35, or it could be a whole new map with a the same compass bearing. Either way they are planning on dropping multiple expansions it seems for the next few years.

Iceland was mentioned in Discord dev chat as was an Aussie "mad max" like theme for the outback expansion. Though odds are both will be made by the dev community and not an official expansion map. One volcanic and cold, one hot and full apocalypse with tons of dangerous critters and zombies. Think talk was in and around Thanksgiving and definitely not official.

Not a huge change in practical terms. But i would love to see sawed off weapons join the general loot pool, particularly around level 1 spawn zones and cities. It's been talked of before and lets be honest no one chops off the barrels currently as it just makes a gun worse with little benefit. It makes sense lore wise as illegal weapons would surely be floating around both before and after the S hits the F. It would make the early game harder and disrupt the amount of full size shot guns and bolts actions (the best early game weapons) floating around. If they wanted to be super cool they could go further and add a tap and die hand tool set to thread weapons for muzzle attachments. Maybe it's just me but feel free to updoot this post if you like it.

Also, whenever they added the crossbow into the game they also added a white version of the crossbow that doesn't spawn on official. I believe they will release this version of the crossbow along with the new winter map, i haven't seen anyone mention the snowy crossbow yet.

I would love to see knife and hatchet sharpening on boulders like you could in real life, but make it take 3 times longer as a tradeoff. Maybe an official trader and craftable armour too. 👍👍

i remember seeing a leaked thing about a dayz 2 being set in norway. maybe the norway part was right but the day2 wasnt. that wud make more sense but i cant see them teasing tanoa and then releasing a differnt map....and i still think that the "will shape dayz for years to come" part will most likely be the newer engine being added

You mentioned a place somewhere in North Norway, I would think a place like Kamtchatka (Far East Russia) with volcanoes. I feel like it could fit with the lore, I don't know

As others are mentioning, the 35 on the runway indicates the runway heading. Since you can approach a runway from two different headings that would make this runway 35/17. (170 being the direct inverse to 350 on the compass). I think the likely event is that Namalsk will be made into an official map, because of that airfield also being 35/17. That or we’ll get a new snow map with coincidentally the same runway headings. However, they have been very purposeful with their teasers so far and everyone on console is begging for Namalsk.

Helicopters and maybe boats, they need to add different modes of transport, because although I don’t mind driving, it’s crappy driving down roads through towns and getting super lag. They should also increase the game size to help it run better, boost it to 30-40gb instead of 12gb

Two of the most popular maps are already winter. A winter map would be a huge misstep. A SCUM island approach would be cool tho as in different biomes. A snow area, a desert area, etc etc.
