My great grandpa had two old 40 series. He lived on a farm on the side of a mountain. The legend only stopped farming when he was in his 90’s. One day he was having lunch whilst sitting on the bonnet of one of his 40 series. It was on a steep track. The exact same thing happened with the handbrake and he had to leap off, at 89 years of age, as the vehicle sped off down the mountain. He walked away with a broken collar bone. That bloody legend just kept on going, nothing could stop him, until cancer did. R.I.P to my great grandpa.

The scariest thing that's happened to me was taking the misso for her first 4wd trip in my tb patrol on a local track that I'd driven 1000 times. Went to drive the what looked like a puddle because the main line was a bit rough then all of a sudden both drive side wheels were off the ground and her window was under water, let's just say some seat covers would have come in handy that day 😂

First thing, super happy to see timbo, jocko and Bailey back together!! ❤️ I absolutely love that mitts alloy 79 series, love the color, the sound, the mini canopy, the tires haha I love all of it, that's like my ideal setup! Also Tim is one of my favorites to watch, dude cracks me up! 😀 Second. My scariest moment 4wding was last year, I 4wd solo since I have no one to go with and I don't want to not 4wd. I accidently went through a dirt bike trail in my jeep, started to rain 🌧 and I realized it only got worse so I tried to back up and I was deep in the oregon forest here in the US, my back 2 wheels were down the side of the hill, driver side(passenger AU style) was up in the air and where I live it rains a lot and the fog was setting in, so I winched myself up more and since it was all muddy, my winch slide my vehicle perfectly into the center of the trail and I was able to slowly back down correctly to find a small patch of Grass with no trees I'm the Tillamook forest and did a 12 point turn to go back down. My hands were shaking haha. Jeeps are narrow and top heavy, I have no lift and no lockers. I rely on my winch, 33 MT and maxtracks which all have gotten me out of everything so far 100%. Solo is scary but I love offroading and know where to draw the line and be like nope, I can't do this trail. I forgot to see the sign with the dirtbikes on it and learned from my mistake haha. Winch saved me, my dog, my jeep and all the gear in my vehicle. I've also set 1/2 an acre on fire including my old XJ jeep because we got stuck in a swampy moss area and rhe the dry weeds caught fire from under the engine. My brother's and dad all had to get the guns out and hike a few miles while it just burned. I still love offroading. Always have and always will. Solo or not. Its a lifestyle.❤❤❤❤❤

The scariest adventure for me was wheeling up to 10,000 feet in the High Sierra. It was a relatively easy trail. We got stuck in a lightning/thunderstorm. Lightning was hitting trees, peaks and the ground very close all around us. It was like bombs going off around us. Just about the most terrified I've ever been in my life!

Scariest moment I’ve had behind the wheel was on my first solo trip over at Moreton, was absolutely pelting down with rain when I arrived at in the dark and upon backing into the beach camp site, I got myself bogged to the diffs in the old GU. Had to leave her in the path of the high tide until the morning when I went to take a look at the damage of the water and realised I had left the front hubs unlocked 🙄. Glad to say water didn’t reach the exhaust and I’ve never gone back on the beach without checking the hubs at least 7 times 😂.

Scariest moment in a 4WD was wheeling out the back of Coffs Harbour at Magic Pools. Was trying to bypass a swimming hole and slid in on a sketchy side angle. Cape York trip 2003 in a 84 xtra cab Hilux… corrugations displaced the battery (crap tie downs), battery acid everywhere! Side of the track repairs, a few occy straps and back to it. Camping at the month of the Jardine river, high tide middle of the night and being kept awake by massive Barra jumping and even bigger croc splashes chasing them! Being snatched out of every water crossing along the Tele track as the solenoid had an issue of not making contact when tipped north of 45 degrees making the engine cut out…. Then pushing it under tow to get up a rock bashed into the side of the fuel tank causing a hectic leak… lucky we had champion in the convoy who knew about the soap trick long before Graham educated all on KZfaq! Love watching your videos, takes me back to the harder tracks we tackled and assisting in planning future adventures plus helping light the fire of 4x4ing adventures to my 9 year old son. I've been following your video for almost a year now and to be honest you guy's have helped me alot especially on how to use hi4 and low4 necessarily which I never knew before, I've found it alot easier and better now watching your video's,❤️👍 Thanks for the heads-up 👍 All the way from PNG.....

My scariest was while driving on the beech for the first time as my mate wanted to drive later, my wife my 3 year old twins at the time and I went for a Drive on the beech while they had a sleep. Driving in the correct settings of the Mitsubishi Triton got bogged to the chassis as I had not deflated my tires, the scary part was we were bogged at a scary angle driving up a ridge and near the water which was coming in. Needless to say, I was rescued by a Toyota 79 who towed me out after a whole lot of sand digging. Seat covers would be so awesome as we do loads of beech driving and camping where we can and we now have dogs and protecting the seats would be so awesome. Love the show, never miss an episode!

My boyfriend was teaching me how to 4WD, in a manual none the less, and we came to the top of what I would describe as a huge sand dune. I was terrified! Still getting use to manual driving, he told me to keep 1st gear and just guide the car down. To me, guide meant just steer the car, because gravity would take care of the rest… initially this was good, we were driving slowly down this huge sand dune, until the car started sliding side ways! I tried to counteract it with no success. My boyfriend finally said “drive the car!” I thought I was. Apparently I needed to apply a little throttle to drive down this crazy descent. Well I drove that 4WD down the sand dune and there was no looking back. I’ll never forget that lesson. It was both terrifying and exciting, all rolled into one. The main thing is, I conquered it 😜

Scariest moment was the very first time I took my PX2 ranger off road. I had the car for less than a week. Stock suspension, road tyres, no maxtrx or recovery gear. I asked a buddy who had 4wding experience to teach me a thing or 2. We took the ranger to white hills beach Western Australia and as far got a bit of confidence, I sent it full steam up a sand dune. As I reached the peak of the dune, the front dipped down and the the shear angle of the drop made me pucker. I definitely learnt another lesson that day. Walk the track before you drive it.

Scariest time in a 4x4 was when my dad asked me to drop him off at the pub in his newish 80 series and I thought I’d take it for a spin ( dad was old school veteran) didn’t take off road, just for a spin, but rain, slick road and a kid that rear ended a flat bed truck and had a car scoot straight up the end of dads pride and joy. Never knew the tow truck drivers name, but thank god he was there when the old boy showed up, owe that man a beer or 2😂

The scariest thing didn’t happen while off road, but in our four wheel drive nonetheless. It was my birthday and I had taken the kids to get some treats. I waa about to pull into our parking spot when I had lost control of steering! The steering wheel was spinning freely. I stopped where I was and called my husband: “There is something broken with the truck! You better come look!” Turns out, the steering wheel base had snapped out of its socket. (We had a piece of our AC replaced weeks earlier and the guys in the shop didn’t screw that bolt tight.) Now imagine loosing steering while on a windy coastal road. Or just the freeway. So glad it happened in front of our house!

Scariest moment was sending my old Ranger up a hill on Bobs track in South-West WA, trying to power through huge wombat holes with no lift or flex. The wheel-lift was so bad I almost flipped and would have rolled down the hill into a crowd of people watching. Made my wife cry and worst of all did it in front of at least 20 cars worth of onlookers (holiday crowd) and the inlaws. Apparently, everyone at the bottom of the hill was gasping and yelling out how stupid I was. Got a 150 Prado now so traction control to the rescue.
