Rodleen Getsick vocals are beyond incredible. For years and years I believed that female voice had been edited to get a synthetic feeling to it. I was wrong. That's her natural voice. A drummer that can play the fastest or most complicated beat isn't the best drummer. The best drummer is the one who writes the best beat possible for the song. Because of you, I've been checking out some other "reaction" channels. 1: You PAUSE the song instead of talking over it. 👍👍 2: You highlight the TALENT/SKILL behind the music/engineering, bringing the average listener's attention to aspects that elevate the music but may not be all that noticeable to the casual listener. 👍👍 3: as a composer, you're coming from a place of "authority" and educating the average listener while admiring the artistry. 👍👍 I haven't seen others doing what YOU do, let alone doing it with an actual technical knowledge of the craft. This is part of what sets you apart 🤙🤙 Keep it up 👊

One of Detones' most creative, mystical and mindblowing track. There's just something so singular about it, from the vocals to the drumming and the guitar tone. I don't know if it is Deftones' best song but it is up there. It's just incredible! And the fact that Rodleen Getsic (the guest voalist) is practically unknown, brings to the song something absolutely mysterious. When you get to them: Dir En Grey - Vinushka, pleeeeeaaaaaase! :)

This record came out when I was a freshman in high school and was really settling into my second year of playing guitar and let me tell you it ruined almost every other record for me for a good 6 months. I learned Knife Prty, Change, Passenger, and Feiticera on guitar immediately and proceeded to make my parents regret letting me buy a half stack. Such an amazing record and got me into so many other cool bands who were inspired by them. Never gets old seeing people become absorbed by her haunting wails and Abe's fantastic drumming only to have that wall of bass and guitars slam into you.

One of my favorite Deftones songs. The drum track plays in a loop in the background of my mind almost daily. Digital Bath is another great track on this album with a great drum sound.

I made an audible noise when this popped up in my feed. I'm so glad you gave this one a go! Deftones has a lot of great stuff but this is the song I come back to the most. It's one of their most interesting songs for sure. Even that Purity Ring remix you mentioned is killer.

I disagree- the first two albums were bamanas- but amputechture was a garbled mess that three different guitarists ejaculated all over. No songs, no structure to the leads- just a noodles mess without any room to breathe..

Lots of talk about Abe in the comments, and they are spot on, but Jesus H., Chino is an absolute God who lives in a different dimension of sound. His ear hears tones no one else in music can hear and then perform with such soul. Absolutely captivating emotionally. I have no idea how to even describe what he does to a non-listener.

This Deftones Album (White Pony) was a very big part of my childhood. It is still one of the best albums ever made. If you like a good song with a visceral female vocal work you should really give Cult of Luna's Cygnus a try! July Christmas did godlike work on that themed album with the band. Have a nice day and keep on delivering greatness! Much love from austria

Just found your channel this evening and was going to suggest you listened to this album because of how you spoke about drums in some of your other videos, and lo and behold you reacted to one of if not my favorite song on the album. You touched on it briefly, but this album in particular is one I find fascinating as even with my “listener ears” (i have a very very basic understanding of music) i found that both myself and a very talented friend of mine who is a professional drummer and bassist noticed that this drummer is insane. He changed the embellishment on nearly every phrase in every measure, adding and subtracting a single Tom or symbol hit or changing the kick pattern the entire way through the album. It’s ridiculous and fun to hear that level of musicality and playfulness from what I think is often a much more square and formatted instrument. Also; you acknowledged the change in the drums in the eq. I believe the vocal solo from the female singer is accompanied by a drum solo spanning that entire portion of the build and chorus. This album is such a treat. Highly recommend a listen through the whole thing again from start to finish if you ever have time, and thanks for the wonderful videos ^.^

Gotta love Deftones! Each vid you give out for 'em, I just HAVE TO ask for something from _Koi No Yokan!_ _Tempest_ is a hit single from that album, and _Entombed_ is a song that will change your entire perspective on Deftones as a band for (I'm assuming) how little you have heard from them, Geebz. Please do give them a try, and while you're there, listen to the whole album! It is my fav from Deftones and really brings forth a change in their sound to me. _Gore_ has a similar sound, but is somewhat forgettable towards the end of the album, but _Ohms_ is a stellar album that came out recently.

My best guess is that they beautifully timed vocals with guitar harmonics in order to arrange one of the most elegantly impactful segments in heavy music ever contrived. Eat your heart out and die happily sorrowful. It's what Deftones would have wanted.

Iv seen Deftones liver about 15 times and thought in the studio those are female vocals and yes her actual voice on those high notes...in recent years about 7 years ago Chino Started doing that vocal part live himself. And the way he does it is with an inward scream...he inhales to get those notes its insane... he's done it in front of my face its incredible.
