@@madman147kk no for sure! but when you’re eyes are off the drums, and the sounds aren’t as meant for just the instrumental but for the song as a whole? I feel like it’s more of a journey instead of being fixated on one person in particular even though Adam and Justin’s instruments are strong on the live drum cam version.

I learned about Tool after Neil Peart’s death. Heard that Danny did a tribute to him during his Chocolate Chip Trip drum solo the night Neil’s death was announced. Decided to check out the album after some reading and man, Fear Inoculum has become one of my all time favorite albums. It’s driving, it’s loud, but it’s smooth. So, I can have this amazing wall of sound around me, but still focus. I plug in some headphones at work and hit this album when I need an hour+ of focus and I don’t want to hear my coworkers anymore. The first note of the title song hits like a comforting balm. And man, I hate having to interrupt any of it to talk on the phone, etc. One cool fact about the title song I read about - it’s 10:20 in length. Maynard drops ‘mitosis’ at 5:10… 🧐😁 In all fairness, I do have to skip Mockingbeat at the end. That discordant jangle just is not what I need anymore.

11:34 the thing u mention here about everyone being in synch n almost shadowing what the others doing, the perfect example of that for me has always been at around 3:52 and 7:53 when maynard says "UP to you" when he says up danny goes up(on the higher toms) on the toms and when he says "to" danny hits the snare with a splash or some fx cymbal...these little nuances are just brilliant to hear as a drummer

I'm pretty sure Adam in the intro is using the volume meter on his guitar. He hits the strings when it's muted and then smoothly rises the volume and mute it again.

Where's the 1? That was fun. First time seeing your video. Long time Tool fan and my most favorite song by them for the last 1.5 years

Now imagine you haven't heard a new tool song in thirteen years, and this is what you have been patiently waiting for. At the same time there is this funny thing happening in China, where a virus has popped up, and is causing a lot of fear.
