I relate to violet. I don't understand emotions, how I feel, others actions or motivates. I'm often left confused or angry as it's my only defense. The show has taught me it's okay to not know my emotions, it's okay to be confused and scared, it's okay to not understand social cues and jokes others make. It's okay to not know. And that's the beauty of this anime. She doesn't understand either and she's trying to understand. And What I can relate to more is no one tries to help explain what we may be feeling or help us learn emotions. We're just left alone and feel like burdens to those around us.

violet evergarden was my first anime so watching these always hits hard

when the movie came out i went to see it with my cousin and he cried even tho he hasn't seen the anime nor knew what was going on for the most part. Also i cried so hard i threw up in a cup

I always fail to remember anything from this anime but one episode there was this sickly mother who commissioned Violet to write letters for every single one of the daughters birthdays. I just remember crying while watching the daughter grow up from a little girl, to when she fell in love, and when she got the final letter 😭

this is probably my favorite anime, i totally love it. but ive basically become immune to sad animes because for me this one just blows them out of the water. this is the only anime i can cry to now, unless im caught off guard

my mum watched this anime before i did, my parents are the type that ill have to ask them for permission to watch something if its 13+ and over cuz im only 12 anyways when i asked my mum if i can watch this she straight up said nO because it was so depressing but eventually i convinced her and this anime will always have a special place in my heart and violet is so frking precious 😍😭 this anime was also drawn so beautifully and im somebody who never cries in movies but this anime just hits so hard 😭😭 the ann ep made me cry

Idk if this is only something I feel but I’ve got a tendency of not feeling like watching any other anime for a while after Watching an anime that actually heavily impacts me and lives me packed with unanswered emotions inside... This was one of those anime it took me a whole week before moving on the other was death note i went a whole month trying to digest my unclear and overwhelming emotions on that anime...

violet evergarden is definetely something. it was beautiful. when i watched the anime (plus the specials), i would always be crying at the end or extremely moved by the way the anime was made. it’s unexplainable.

I don't think I've felt so much emotion for Violet Evergarden, To Your Eternity, and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. My top 3 tearjerker series.

Absolutely amazing show, I got emotional almost every episode, still have not cried or teared up to an anime but I came damn close many times, I even wish I did cry. After ep 1 I knew this was an instant 10/10

The anime, this god loved anime... I saw the whole anime a few ago, again (for the 6th time by now), and I still want to feel all the emotions I felt when I watched it for the first time, again. This anime has changed my life MASSIVELY, and I'm glad it did :) But now after I watched the final movie, the final ending to the storyline, I think I will never be able to watch this beautiful masterpiece ever again, as I now know how the things have turned out... (But I think it's for the best that I don't watch it again)

man, i still vividly remember that episode where sickly mother writes "future" letter for her daughter, while her daughter throwing tantrum for her not being there to play with her i cry my heart out on that episode, and on top of that, it show a glimpse of future where the letter being read by her daughter through her years until old enough and having a family

I think the journey we went through with Violet is a experience that we put ourselves in her shoes.Her journey was full of obstacles but she overcame them to tell Major Gilbert what she wasnt able to finish.I think in the end we all are proud of Violet and we hold her definition of love.We went through all the steps of grief with her. I’ve never watched another anime quite like Violet Evergarden. Never has an anime been able to break my heart repeatedly only to build it back up and warm my very soul over and over again. I feel that Violet was the perfect vessel to tell this beautiful journey of loss, growth, and self discovery. A girl who’s lost her everything goes out into the world to define “love” for herself. And, in a way, you can’t help but feel like you’re growing with her and you find yourself redefining what it means to live and love. If only I could go back to when I watched this for the first time. To feel that rollercoaster of emotion again. Violet Evergarden’s story is one of my all time favorites and because of it I now see the world all the more colorfully than before.

Became my favorite anime as soon as I saw the first chapters. It made an impact on how I was living my life and see things, especially relationships and tragedy.

One of very few animes that will make you cry on every episode. It made me realize how much I need my family and how much a loss of someone can impact you. It made me realize that deep inside I'm still a human, I have feelings and empathy, that I love making others happy and I would do everything for my friends. I found this at a time when I felt so depressed I didn't think I even felt anything anymore. I thought it was ironic that I had realized that and found an anime about a girl who showed no emotions, so I watched it. And I realized they were there, somewhere deep where I didn't know how to make sense of them anymore, but I cared and I was going to try my best. The first time I watched it was a blur, and the second time I cried for days just thinking abt it all. I don't even remember most of the show, I'm sure, but at that point in my life, I knew it was the start of someone new, a new life for me no matter how damaged and broken I thought I was. I think its also why I stopped watching animes after the 3rd time I rewatched it a few years later, because nothing would ever compare and I didn't need it to. The best emotional support is sometimes the ones that let you move on, and leave them behind when they don't feel right anymore. This show rebuilt something inside of me, and I struggle a lot still, but I could never imagine going back to the person I used to be. It was really something to see a girl fight to the death for the only life she cared about, and then being spurred back into the world without him. I guess I realized I wanted to fight too, because there's always more out there. The sadness follows you, but it feels alright when other things bring happiness along with it. Sometimes that sorrow changes into something that makes everything feel better, as well. Like all that sadness wants you to be happy too.
