Serial production of the "Kharkov" electric shaver began in 1956 at the State Enterprise "Kharkov Electrical Equipment Plant" (in the 1970s it was renamed into the "Echo" Electric Shaver Plant)
The first developed models of electric shavers were called "Kharkov-1", "Kharkov-2". These were electric shavers with rigidly mounted twin circular knives in the shaving head.
Further modernization of the "Kharkov-2" model shaving unit was expressed in the "Kharkov-6" electric shaver.
It features a "floating" installation of circular knives, which ensures a good fit and shaving of hard-to-reach areas of the face.
On the basis of this model, the Kharkiv-61 electric shaver is being developed. It has a "fold-down" shaving unit, there is a clipping unit designed to trim hair on the temples, beard and mustache, as well as a number of other improvements.
The next step in the creation of electric shavers of a higher class were electric shavers "Kharkov-5", "Kharkov-5M", "Kharkov-15M", and others.
