Old Rusted Drill Vise - Tool Restoration | Mister Patina
In this Video i‘m restoring an old drill Vise - i found this drill vise in my grandfathers basement, he used it for working with wood and other materials.
I started with a full functional inspection of the drill vise. The threads were mostly in a good condition, the clamps werent hardened but very used. After the disassembly i smoothed all the surfaces and other marks by filing and sanding. The body got two coats of primer and "Hammerite" spraypaint, the screws and the handle were blued with acid bluing. The clamps got fire blued: i heated the clamps to ~300 degrees celsius and put them into warm olive oil. This process hardens the clamps, makes them rustproof and gives them a nice anthracite finish. While assembly, i put the parts back together with a lot of grease. The final check shows: it works perfectly fine and looks nearly brand new :)
I will use this drill vise in my upcoming Videos - so stay tuned and enjoy, i really hope you like it.
If you have any questions or suggestions, you can write an email, i try to answer asap.

Antik?
@fiedbaam
@fiedbaam 3 жыл бұрын
@misterpatina
@misterpatina 3 жыл бұрын
