This video depicts the restoration process of a bench grinder with many years of history. According to the label on the machine, it was manufactured in 1973. The grinder has undergone years of challenging operation, with some functions and components damaged due to rust. I found it at a Japan recycle store and have an idea to restore it. Let's watch together!
* Bench grinder Information *

I'm very happy to receive your feedback, advice, suggestions to improve myself.

Nice work, but a tip about soldering to the cap: when you make this type of connection you should make a solid mechanical connection first, for instance run the wire through the eyes and bend it back around so it is mechanically secure, then solder. This helps with long term life of joints.

I do Marine repair and restore Muscle cars from one tech to another well done I love the freaking side covers kick ass dude love it @ My I make a suggestion when handling any start capacitors take a insulated screw driver and cross the terminals on the lead ins to discharge the cap before handling . They can store a lot of amps and discharge is you grab the leads. They can kill you if you get a big enough cap and zapped . Keep up the good work love it

@@pomegranatepip2482 If you search on line for Electronic repair especially on Capacitors they will always tell you to discharge the cap before working on the circuit . Back in the day when tech fixed TVS it was standard procedure to discharge the cap or you could get electrocuted . Those caps back then stored a lot of charge . You are not damaging the cap all you are doing it discharging it . I am only talking about the bigger caps

Great video, good job, glad you didn't have to rewind the motor field windings, wonder what caused the big dent on the cast iron casing that you had to fill, would have thought that impact would have broken the cast iron frame, this grinder wanted to live on and by its condition was begging for a restoration, good job and i am a big supporter for restorations.

Your left side wheel was put on the wrong way, the spin direction is wrong. The cardboard glued to the wheel shows which direction the spin is meant to be. I couldn't see the cardboard on the right wheel. Like car tyres theres a correct rolling direction, on grinding wheels its very important.
