Old rusty camping pocket knife restoration. I found this rusty folding knife in the woods. He lay in the ground for 50 years. This is from the 70s. I decided to restore it. Removed the rust. I hope you liked my restoration.

Вітаю! Гарно, витягнув того старого із домовини))) направду знаю як то все іржаве колупати, чистити і шліфувати в силу свого хоббі, нарозбирав їх достатньо. А ще якщо вони заклепані накосо))), совецке виробництво, та ще особливо після 80тих))).Тепер тільки дивитись твої відео, не маю вже охоти то піргати))). Продовжуй 👍

I would suspect that your knife got lost in a garden at a barbecue. The main blade had grease, fat or oil on it from cutting food, which is why the blade survived better than the rest of the knife, and was locked out in the open position by the rust. Lots of pitting on the rest of it, so it must have been exposed for a fair while. Well restored. My own pocket knife had a similar mishap, though it was only exposed for a month, and I've since rescued it to functional condition again.

Вітаю. Гарний ножик, майже з магазину ) Вирішили не заточувати чи погано фіксувався у зажимі? (я заточую точилкою Kazachok Poland та брусками Т2 Boride +кутомір і т.і.)

Там спуск такий, що точилкою не заточеш. Дуже тонкий метал. В таких випадках, я при шліфовці заточую папером 1500-2000-2500-3000

Гарно получилось!!! Маю такий теж під реставрацію зі зламаним лезом, залишився від дідуся, колись ми з ним пасли корови то дідусь ним кришив сало на обід і мені вистругував свисток з верби, потім я якимось чином умудрився його зламати. Тепер хочу реставрувати його як хороший спогад, тільки не знав яка форма леза в нього була. Хочу тебе попросити щоб написав мені розміри леза. Загальну довжину, відстань від клинка до найширшої частини і ширину в широкій частині кринка. Попробую вирізати )

Отличная работа! Высокий класс этой реконструкции придало стремление автора оставить все аутентичное, без "улучшений". Чем, к сожалению, иногда страдают некоторые реконструкторы.

It was surprising to see how bad the rust was on this one given it’s a bit more modern versus some of the other items you have restored. Do you ever get started on a restoration and then think “this one is not going to work” and reject it?
