Had one of these back in 94', with an Alpine 7524, Alpine changer, Alpine active x-over, Boston Pro 6.2 up front, Boston Pro 5.2 in back, and 2 Boston Pro 12's in a huge box in the trunk. Power was provided by 3 PPI A600's, and 1 PPI A200. My dream system. So glad I did that before the death of car audio.

The great parts about these units are the huge array of different displays, not only are there 9 different displays labelled disp 0 - 9 but each of those have both upwards and downwards moving bars, depending on which mode you select by pressing the up or down arrows for a few seconds. Also, you can turn the whole bar graphic display to an inverse like a photo negative by pressing the other button - up or down for a few secs(can't remember which) lastly, the unit allows you to control a sub and if you have a headunit that allows this too, then you can in fact control two different types of subs. I have mine conneted to control the base engine actuators under my front seats and use the head unit's sub control to control the tube sub behind the back seat under the soft top. these units were expensive in the day but nowadays they are cheap to buy and can be POLISHED using brasso liquid polish and a very soft towelling type cloth. Don't use tissue. I have heard some people change the globes inside which are 6volts 70milliamps to be red and blue instead of red and green and achieve a brighter display during daylight full sunshine.

I remember drooling over the 3339 at the local stereo shop back in the 90's. All of these full DIN EQ's were way over my budget. My brother had a Sony XE-8 1/2 DIN EQ and that joker was pretty sweet also.

I haven't personally used the 3362, but heard it is a VERY nice unit. It even has optical digital connection. You found an excellent EQ!!

Let me just say that I LOVED this unit💯 I had the 3342 in my comp sound system in a Honda Accord back in 1994! My stereo guy brought it back from Japan, along with the Alpine servo-drive single-din pop-out screen. These were not cheap! But they were the absolute best 💯

Memories! I had a decent system back in the day, sub xover/volume as well as basic eq was done with a 1/4 din Kenwood graphic eq. It sounded great. But this thing came out just as I turned 20. I had to have it even though I couldnt afford it. Determined, I discovered credit cards!! Free money!!! Yeah!! Bought it, installed it was facinated , tweaked settings for endless hours /commutes but I jjst could get things to sound as good as what I got from that 1/4 din kenwwod eq. Switched back to the kenwood eq and all I got from the experience was a hard lesson in credit problems.

I planned on using it in my daily driver, but just got a good deal on a JBL MS-8, so I'm going 4way active with old school RF amps...it's gonna be sweet!

I had this exact unit! We used a dremmel tool to cut out a slot below the Alpine head unit for the face plate. Rocking system

I have this until in my car Still works great! Believe it or not I purchased it back in 93 or 94 for use in my 89 Hyundai The when I purchased my 95 Honda civic I transferred it to the civic where it is today It never occurred to me how long I owned it. Never had any problems with it.

Still one of the best-looking radios was the Clarion 9575r with the plug-in hideaway eq. It was only 3 bands, but it gave you like 7 different displays.

Ola What a fantastic peace of kit, I purchased one back in 1993 and still have it in perfect condition. Im going to take it out and fit it in the car, yes now I've seen the video I remember it only takes right & left inputs put the Alpine unit I have in the car has front and rear outputs, so which one would I use, Front or the Rear. Fantastic brings back some cool memories ... Saluti

This was the bomb back in the day. I remember staring at my magazine & drooling when it first came out. It was perfection. I just couldn't afford it (like most of the rest of the equipment I wanted). A few years later, Pioneer came out with their version (DEQ-9200) which was in some ways superior & had the added bonus of being cheaper. I still have & use it to this day.

I had one of these, it works different to the g320 that i have now, if you wanted the reverb to be louder, you hat to turn the eq bands down, stadium 2 with all the eq bands down sounded awesome. The problem with these old dsp units it that they cant handle high pre amp voltage, 850 mv. I have a short video of my g320 in my vids

I'm still using this thing, and I just love the BBE feature. I want to upgrade to maybe a carplay unit, but I'm scared anything else will sound like CRAP without the BBE. Does anyone make BBE unit still?

Clarion had one just like this and it was second to none. Dazzling display. No excuse for not offering this type of eq any more.

Dereck BigDWiz I always wanted one of these Alpine eq's back in the day. Closest I ever got to owning something like this was my Blaupunkt gooseneck EQ which I believe was 7 band. I had the brain under my drivers seat and had the gooseneck base mounted on the side on my center console at the bottom. That way I could just bend the neck down under the front of my seat when I parked to hide it. I had that thing like 90 couple days and it broke just outside of warranty. First and last Blaupunkt I owned.

What happened to this type of eq? I enjoyed the visualization and I can't find anything like this now.

Nice Big D! That EQ reminds me of one that I had back in the day by Metrosound. Only mine didn't have a digital display. It was lit up by LED's. Does it have volume control?

This thing was looking like new, best stuff in the old days. I have the 3362 model of this so the controller box is a bit bigger but the separate display looks pretty much the same. I was using this device about 20 years ago. Car stereo on that time gave 1.5v on the rca outputs so this device had a damn good pre-amp..they said up to 5 volts. I had a 4 channel ads (audio system) amp for the front speakers and one phoenix gold xs2500 for the cerwin vega subs. There are some digital (optical) inputs on mine.. says " changer,master,aux" Not sure how i could use them in the car. Thanx for the video :)

This EQ was THE SHIT to have back in the day! Everyone wanted that joint! I had a sick ass pioneer one that sounded great as well, DEQ-7600. Was actually a bit better than the Alpine one had more bands and was parametric if I recall correctly.

Wow- saw this and started reminiscing, then I realized how much audio gear I went through and all the different brands I had. I was very OCD back then. If I had a Pioneer HU, then I had to have the same brand Eq. I don't know why we have regressed to knobs from sliders. Sliders are easier to see from a quick glance. I still don't understand why a vintage Eq costs alot more than a new one? Those little Kenwood 5 channel Eq's would be perfect for my system . I don't like having to go through different menus just to get to access the Eq. Use the sliders on the fly. My music collection is all over the place and one Eq setting does not fit all.

it looks like standard 1 octave 10 band with an added 190. Which would be nice for most problem area's in vehicles.
