Thank you for these Great Videos! Thanks too for not putting in any dumb music. A gasser makes its own music. And thank you for not having anyone running their dumb mouth. These sights and sounds remind me of when I was a kid and my Pop used to race his roadrunner at Island dragway. Not many gassers but lots of super stock action. DRAG STRIP RIOT #1.

Wow...............best film footage......multiple angles even!!! Great job!!! Very period correct cars!!! NHRA wants to know how to revive..........they should look at this video and cars that people still love 50 years later!!!!! No one can relate to a stretched plastic body / tube frame even if it does go 300 mph!!!

I am a huge early gasser fan having competed with a national record holding B/Gasser in the '60's. But judging by the few fans in the stands at this event, I am not sure the general public agrees with you.

I miss Byron! Started going there when it was known as Rockford as I lived less than an hour away (from Great Lakes also) and now that I've moved to CA, there are no drag strips close by. So I have to watch videos.....not the same!

Thank you! At this point in time, it's unlikely we'll ever see regular 1/4 mile racing from them. Too many unfortunate incidents, even to the 1/8. These cars are running much faster than their predecessors of the 60s.

Gotta tell ya that sounds great! And I love it very much!!! Can't get enough of the sound of a Gasser!!! You betcha!!! But how can they keep wasting their tires like that? Isn't that a little bit expensive??? All in the name of a " Great burnout"!!?? Dumbasses! Right that's how I feel about it now because I wouldn't be doing this if I were racing there!
